My name is M. Amanuensis Sharkchild (I go by Sharkchild) and I am a writer of horror and fantasy fiction. With your support, I will self-publish the second hardcover volume of my short story collection called THE DARK VERSE. The new book, entitled IN THE BLOOD OF DEATH (THE DARK VERSE, VOLUME II), will hold twenty-six short stories of thought-provoking, chilling occult horror; artwork by my good friend, John F. Stifter; and a dark red imitation leather binding with black foil stamping and black dusting on all sides of the pages.

THE DARK VERSE is my growing collection of Lovecraft- and Poe-like short stories written with the sole purpose of sharing with you a unique world of horror and fantasy that will follow you to the visions of your sleep.
In October 2007, THE DARK VERSE started as a podcast by which I wrote, recorded, and narrated my stories. After receiving positive feedback and retaining the inspiration and motivation needed to churn out more and more stories, I decided to self-publish the first 26 stories of the collection as a volume one book entitled FROM THE PASSAGES OF REVENANTS (THE DARK VERSE, VOLUME I).
This ambition came to fruition in 2009. The book was well embraced by reviewers and the public and came in as a silver medalist in the category of Horror in the 2010 Independent Book Publisher Awards. Here is a look at that self-published title:
Almost three years later, and with 53 more stories completed, it is time for me to take the second group of 26 stories and bring to book-life the second volume of THE DARK VERSE.
This next volume will be created with the same amazing features as the first volume (the same theme, look, quality, and feel) including:
- Dark red Imitation leather hardcover binding
- Black foil stamping
- Black dusting on all three sides of the pages
- Thick, 80 lb. paper
- Full-color endsheets
- Cosmic artwork for the cover, endsheets, and each of the stories by John F. Stifter

- Promotion (sending out galley proofs for reviews)
