We've got a full-length Shael Riley & The Double Ice Backfire album all recorded, but we want to make it sound as good as possible. So, we want to send our recorded tracks to a talented, pro audio engineer for proper engineering and mastering.
Ultimate Songs From The Pit includes ten new songs, and six remastered (funding pending) songs from our 2009 EP (Regular) Songs From The Pit, with guest appearances by Schaffer the Darklord, Billy the Fridge, and MegaRan.
I asked some musician friends who they've used, did a little investigating, and got a generous offer from Alex Therou of Turtle Tone NYC. He's the engineer behind the mastering of the last four MC Frontalot albums, and he's agreed to engineer and master our entire 16-track album for $3,750. That's a pretty great price! He's also worked with MSI and Godsmack, and I like one of those bands.
With professional engineering, our songs will sound far clearer and otherwise better than we could possibly make them sound ourselves. Not only will they be, I hope, more enjoyable to listen to, but they'll stand a much better chance of being picked up by and put into regular rotation on all sorts of digital and analog music broadcasts.
Every bit of money you donate goes towards funding the production and distribution of this already-finished-and-waiting-to-fill-your-earholes album. If we can exceed our goal by a few hundred dollars, we won't have to dip into our own pockets to get physical copies made, register as publishers with ASCAP, and pay for digital stocking fees on iTunes; and if we can exceed our goal by a little more, we might even be able to hire a publicist, so our new album will be able to reach listeners wholly unconnected to the small circle of blogs, sites, and social groups that are already familiar with our music.
Please note that, becuase of how Kickstarter is set up, if we don't make our funding goal of $3,750, all money donated is refunded, we don't get any money at all, and no rewards will be distributed. So--you know--tell a friend!
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.

All of the above, plus IMMEDIATE access to the rough mixes--so you can actually hear the songs before anyone else. AND, you may choose one song therefrom that me and the band will make a music video for. We'll work with you to come up with a video concept we all like, and if you'd like, you can even appear in the video. I'll also setup a video chat with you ASAP to 1) thank you, 2) show you how to get access to our new songs, and 3) hash out what kind of video we'll be making. We'll also offset your name under its own subheading in the linear notes and give you Chief Executive Producer credit---I'm not sure that should be capitalized, but money like that doesn't waste time with grammatical concerns.
