Hello there faithful backers of "Project Ethiopia"! 

I know it's been a long time since you've heard from us and it's because we've been super busy finishing this album! (Also getting married! :) We are now nearing completion and I wanted to let you know where things are at!

We are scurrying to finish mixing the album and tonight I will be working away at the completion of the album artwork. The album will be titled "New Flower" and we are so excited to share it with you. As I type I am listening to the proposed order for the album and it's hard to believe we are finally so close to releasing it to the world.

Our official release date will be October 28th in Traverse City, MI at Higher Grounds Trading Company in Traverse City, MI. We will be touring with the full band that we recorded the project with. Hello dear backers!

We have made it home and are just starting to feel as though we've landed. Our travels to Ethiopia were so incredible. The culture and the people were uplifting and inspiring. So much happened in such a short amount of time. When it came time to leave, it seemed as if we had just arrived. We made dear friends and learned so much.

The people there are so vibrant and though it may appear they have very little, it seems their lives are unbelievably full. Their eyes are shining and their smiles are portals to another dimension! We have so much to learn from their graciousness and their humble hearts.

Education is such an important part of Ethiopian culture! We found ourselves surrounded by incredible minds. The students in the schools are brilliant and it was such an honor to work with them. They welcomed us like kings and queens and taught us so much in our short visits there. The schools that we are raising money to build will help so many. These communities are full of intelligent hard working people and their beautiful children. I am so excited for these students and teachers to have more classrooms to learn in. The communities were excited too. They greeted us with a celebration that may never be topped in our lifetime.

We got to meet and see incredible musicians in Addis. We were lucky enough to jam and sit in with some of them too. We are full of new sounds and inspirations, now we just have to put it all into song. We're really excited to begin this part of the process and have been home writing and recording demos for our band all week. We'll begin recording the album on February 7th!!! So soon!!!

Thank you again for supporting this project. We have already been inspired beyond our own expectations and we could not have done it without your help. What a great gift.

A few quick details! We need your mailing address' to send you your rewards. We wont be sending them for quite awhile, but we want to make sure when we've got goods we can get them to you~ Also some of your payments were declined... I'm not sure why. Let us know if we can do anything on our end to right those payment errors!

Our kickstarter is finished and we went $500 over our goal! Amazing! Thanks again to everyone for all of their support. We are so excited!

Now the real work begins! We will continue to update our project page to let you know how everything is going and to keep you up to date on the creation from here on in. Seth and I will be flying out on January 5th and will return on the 23rd.

We made it to our Goal of $10,000!!

This is such an exciting day for us! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We are pumped to make this album and to bring back what we've learned from these amazing communities. We'll be updating from the road in Ethiopia, I will follow up with links and ways to keep track of our travels as soon as we've established the online location.

We will be recording the album just weeks after we return with an incredible cast of musicians and our engineer Ian Gorman. This is going to be an amazing feat for our creative souls to accomplish so much in such a little amount of time. We are up for it and ready to go~!
