About this project

In "Cute Kid Project:  Lawman" Cole will be a hard nosed attorney dealing with corrupt politicians and officials, and generally gaming the legal system. It's a comedic satire about crime and justice, and how rarely the twain shall meet. Done of course in a lighthearted way, like our other cute kid videos.

Who is the Cute Kid?

The Cute Kid is my nephew Cole.  When he was very small Cole would take the almost empty soap dispenser and add toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash - whatever came to hand at the moment.  After using this concoction unwittingly for some time I noticed a difference in the consistency of the "soap", and discarded the stuff, replacing it with a fresh soap dispenser.  Some time later I found Cole at the sink with the empty soap dispenser and several bottles of liquids of various kinds.  When I asked what he was up to he said, "I'm making soap."  I laughed at this and left him to it, but I couldn't get the image out of my head of little Cole dressed up like a scientist working away in a chemistry lab making a revolutionary new kind of soap.

What is the Cute Kid Project?

Cute Kid then is that image of Cole / kid-scientist in my mind, and we've seen it before in the "Little Rascals",  Shirley Temple films, "Home Alone", and countless other films, TV shows, and cartoons.  The Cute Kid Project is an ambitious plan to bring back those iconic images and explore new ones.  The reality is that children not only represent our future, our hopes, and our dreams - Children, in simple fact, are the future of the race.  That is why the image of a child at successful work and play in the adult world is such a powerful one.  It often happens that the truly revolutionary innovation, the game changing discovery comes from someone who is young, they don't have to think outside the box because they don't even know the box exists.  Cute Kid Project celebrates that innocent genius and aims to bring that spirit further into the adult world.

What have you done before?

This is our first KickStarter project, some time ago we shot and released "Cute Kid - Door to Door Salesman" on YouTube, you may have seen it 72,000 people have seen it so far.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxCHEJSHOBE  This time we want to up the production value and take the Cute Kid to a whole new level.

Can I gift an incentive?

YES!  Great idea.  If you would like to donate to the film but give the reward to someone as a gift, go through all the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided) We will request things like your t-shirt size and address from you at that time. Please reply with all the person’s information that is to receive the reward.  We will make sure to send the reward to the right person.

Can we exceed the goal?

YES!  The great thing about Cute Kid Project is that every time we make our target amount we can start pre-production on a new short film and as you can see we already have several fun ideas in the works.  So, if we bring in 15K we can make "Cute Kid Project:  LAWMAN" and two more fantastic CKP short films!  Also there is the very real potential of expanding Cute Kid Project into the feature film format!  But for that to happen we kinda need this KickStarter page to go viral, so be sure to tell your friends!

Where does the money go?

Every penny (minus the fees for KickStarter) will go directly to "Cute Kid Project:  LAWMAN" short film budget.  If we bring in 4 times the funding goal we will make "LAWMAN" plus three more Cute Kid Project films.  No matter how much we make it will all stay with the Cute Kid Project and lets hope we take in enough to make a Cute Kid Project feature film after we complete "LAWMAN"!!

Can I increase my pledge once it's been made?

YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
What happens if the money isn’t raised in time? Unfortunately nothing. If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no movie is made. We want to avoid this scenario at all cost!

How do I redeem the incentive?

All incentives, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met.  If we do meet our goal we will put together your physical reward package after we complete "LAWMAN".  Digital and online rewards will be delivered on a week to week basis.
