About this project
Half-Share is an independently produced 30-minute comedy pilot that provides a provocative peek into the lives of six gay men sharing a beach house on Fire Island. It may sound like high drama, but it's pure hi-larity!
UPDATE: We're tickled pink that Half-Share has surpassed its fundraising goal in just over a week! We don't know where to begin to thank the Kickstarter community for your belief in this project! Although this is fantastic news, we still need your financial help!
We obviously underestimated the interest in this project when we chose to go with a very conservative financial goal that would do little more than cover our existing debt. Any donations we get from this point on will go toward future marketing and promotional materials that will help get this boob-free show onto the boob-tube! This type of grassroots marketing includes (but is not limited to):
- Creating professional promotional materials
- Applying to expensive film and TV festivals
- Creating costly HD Cam & DigiBeta tapes to play at overlapping film festival screenings
- And ensuring that the show will have representation during these extremely important screenings!
There is obviously a market for this type of episodic outrageousness since several prestigious (and straight!) film festivals have already invited us to screen--Palm Springs Int'l ShortFest, Rhode Island Int'l Film Festival & International Television Festival in LA. Not to mention the fact that the YouTube trailer got over 15,000 hits in its first week alone!

Half-Share was shot on location in Fire Island Pines with a cast of series regulars including:

- Sam Pancake (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Will and Grace, Fat Actress)
- Jesse Archer (Violet Tendencies, A Four Letter Word)
- Kevyn Morrow (Hope and Faith, Coach, Dreamgirls)
- Joey Dudding (Big Gay Musical, A Chorus Line, La Cage aux Folles)
- And introducing Kyle Spidle as Mac!

Connected as Sean Hanley (470 friends)
An ex-Connecticut preppie, Sean has lived up and down both coasts (always blue states—instinctively avoiding Jesus-land), but after receiving a B.A. in English with a concentration on Fiction Writing at Lewis and Clark College in Oregon, Sean ended up in La-La Land where he completed a UCLA certificate program in Screenwriting. Soon after he landed a job on the writing staff of The Nanny where he worked for three seasons. Other television credits include The Simple Life (starring Judith Light, CBS), Kelly Kelly (starring Shelley Long, WB) and Daytrippers (created by Fran Drescher, MTV). Film credits include Todd Graff’s movie musical, Camp (IFC).
After relocating to New York, Sean met Jesse Archer while writing for the wildly popular e-zine Gay List Daily. The two immediately decided to collaborate on something that was as gay as it gets, and soon after Half-Share was born! Currently Sean is busy working with his editor to complete his debut novel, The Convertible Life.
