2. A hysterical new comedy pilot that needs your grassroots help to go to series!

Half-Share is an independently produced 30-minute comedy pilot that provides a provocative peek into the lives of six gay men sharing a beach house on Fire Island.  It may sound like high drama, but it's pure hi-larity! 

UPDATE:  We're tickled pink that Half-Share has surpassed its fundraising goal in just over a week!  We don't know where to begin to thank the Kickstarter community for your belief in this project!  Although this is fantastic news, we still need your financial help!

We obviously underestimated the interest in this project when we chose to go with a very conservative financial goal that would do little more than cover our existing debt.  Any donations we get from this point on will go toward future marketing and promotional materials that will help get this boob-free show onto the boob-tube!  This type of grassroots marketing includes (but is not limited to): 

  • Creating professional promotional materials
  • Applying to expensive film and TV festivals
  • Creating costly HD Cam & DigiBeta tapes to play at overlapping film festival screenings
  • And ensuring that the show will have representation during these extremely important screenings!

There is obviously a market for this type of episodic outrageousness since several prestigious (and straight!) film festivals have already invited us to screen--Palm Springs Int'l ShortFest, Rhode Island Int'l Film Festival & International Television Festival in LA.  Not to mention the fact that the YouTube trailer got over 15,000 hits in its first week alone!

Check your inhibitions on the mainland and hop aboard the fairy ferry to the mythical Island of Misfit Boys!  

Half-Share? Quarter-Share? Men who impersonate Cher?  The gays on Fire Island speak a different lingo and for a newcomer like Mac, it's way more than a mouthful!  Practically hetero and fresh out of a fourteen-year relationship, Mac packs his Birkenstocks and his emotional baggage for a summer share. What he envisions as relaxing beach-time turns into high camp hysteria after his eccentric housemates take a fish out of water and fling him headfirst into the glittery gay shark pond!

Half-Share was shot on location in Fire Island Pines with a cast of series regulars including: 

  • Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Connie and Carla)
  • Jack Plotnick (Meet the Fockers, Drawn Together, Girls Will Be Girls)
  • Sam Pancake (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Will and Grace, Fat Actress)
  • Jesse Archer (Violet Tendencies, A Four Letter Word)
  • Kevyn Morrow (Hope and Faith, Coach, Dreamgirls)
  • Joey Dudding (Big Gay Musical, A Chorus Line, La Cage aux Folles)
  • And introducing Kyle Spidle as Mac!
