A breakthrough cinematic experience about more than just the cars…the people, lifestyle, enthusiasm, party, and the Leavenworth Drive.
The Volkswagen/Audi, and for that matter, the car community as a whole has been in an ever-changing and evolving venue for a couple years now. The technological advances have made it easier and easier for anyone and everyone to pick up a still or video camera and shoot this or that, almost entirely focusing on the cars and the trends—forgetting why we are all here in the first place.
At the beginning of 2011, while the majority of the scene's cars were snowed in, the idea for More Than A Drive was conceived by Anna Taylor and myself (Samuel Dobbins). While we didn't know exactly what or how, we knew who. The people are what have brought us here, so it's the people, and the community created by our enthusiasm for cars and culture that should be showcased—in a nutshell, the car enthusiast lifestyle.
So here we are, months later... The movie has been filmed, showcasing every little aspect and detail of the Leavenworth Drive, from the night before, relaxing and detailing, to the dreary morning of, the epic journey—a thousand cars deep—through the northern Cascades, and then finally, the arrival in Leavenworth, WA, a small Bavarian-themed town at the eastern base of the Cascade Range.
But now we've found ourselves sitting atop a mountain of footage (over 300 hours worth), without the resources necessary to put it all together and change the world—or at least the car community—as we know it.
Everything from software to business cards and flyers, the creation of many of the items that you see listed as incentive rewards for donating to our cause, and the general, overall hype created by what we all know and love, the European automotive community.
We're not just trying to raise funds to create something though—that part is already happening. We're providing an avenue for support that also allows our backers to receive a variety of gifts (depending on donation level), along with what's most important, the film itself: More Than A Drive.

Quite frankly, it's our livelihood. We eat, breathe, and sleep cars. Shooting them, writing about them, designing things for them, it's how we live. Everyone has something they're this passionate about, and for us, it's cars!

We, all too well, understand that everyone is on a budget. And rather than ask for the brokest of broke to donate a minimum, yet seemingly astronomical amount, we've decided to try and cater the best we can to every level of income. Whether it's a dollar or a thousand, our level of appreciation is overwhelming, as if it weren't for our supporters, we wouldn't even be here!

Yes! We want as much support as we can get! If that means a single dollar, then that means your name goes in the movie! Every level of backing, will be given a color, and in the final credits of the film, every backer's name will be listed alphabetically, while the pledge level will be defined by the name's color!

We are car enthusiasts, just like you! Sam Dobbins hails from the Pacific Northwest, more specifically, Washington, while Anna Taylor resides in West Virginia. Through many years shooting, we both wound up shooting and contributing to the same magazine, Performance VW, and the rest is history.

Sam Dobbins developed the idea. Anna Taylor perfected it. Spencer Dobbins was the MVP/daredevil motorcyclist that bared the rain and all to help film. Aaron Malmoe sacrificed partaking in the drive to set up cameras and be an all-around badass. Jonny Sundell was the Canadian inspiration that brought next level skills to the table.
