About this film: Come As You Are
Inspired by true events, Come As You Are is a feature length period piece filled with dramatic highs and lows. Set in the mid 90's, when alternative and grunge rock ruled the airwaves and beepers were still of relevance, this coming of age story focuses on a compelling and extraordinarily talented teenager named, Eric Ressa. He is a gifted athlete with a football scholarship waiting to be handed to him, but his musical talents haunt him and instead push him to pursue a career in music. Set against the backdrop of a small, claustrophobic town in Upstate New York, where the biggest and only news is a winning football team, Eric must overcome the wickedness of others to protect his integrity. Will Eric, a seventeen-year-old kid conflicted with manly problems, rise to the occasion through this arduous journey of self discovery?
Help us answer that question for you! In order for my team and I to realize and deliver the quality film that we want to produce for you guys, funding is essential. All great films rely on some kind of budget to fuel the filming process so that you, the audience, can have an incredible viewing experience when the film is complete.
Film Status: This film is currently in preproduction. We have currently joined forces with actor/producer/writer, Rob Alicea of Pushed Envelope Productions, Clint Mauro who in addition, is an actor/producer/writer with an impressive resume in professional modeling, and Mike Gucciardo who is also a triple threat as an actor/writer/producer. Rob, Clint, and Mike are incredibly talented and possess a work ethic that will inspire others to help us push the project forward. We couldn't be more thrilled to have a solid ensemble of workhorses that are passionate film makers.
In the past we have consulted with various successful independent film makers and developed rapport with: Thomas E. Rome of Clark Street Productions (Honored) who is an Emmy award winning cinematographer, writer/director, Robert Miceli of Sinker Swim Productions (Hook, Line & Skillet) and Executive producer Kevin Leckner of Starline Films. (Anyone's Son, 4CHOSEN, Old Stone Face)
Funds: All monies raised will go into pre-production. This includes equipment, thorough research, location scouting, costs for the promotional trailer or short film, and miscellaneous financing. You guys, through your pledges, will help kickstart our project and... you will be rewarded! If we exceed our pre-production goal (which we hope to do) all additional monies will be put into the production budget, helping us get closer to those magic words of "Action and Cut" to make one heck of an inspiring film.
