Update #11: CD is on sale!
Hello everyone. In the end it didn't work out with Kickstarter, but the CD has been completed and will be released on the Zoho label in November. But you can already listen to some of the CD and pre-order it now! Here's the link and again thanks to all you backers for trying to get involved. Maybe we can try again for my next CD!
Update #10: Alternate way to donate
Hello everyone! It was bothering me that I lost the pledges that all of you generously made towards "Accents", so I came up with another way to continue fundraising, this time, outside of Kickstarter, with no specific goal amount. Meaning, this time, there's no risk of not receiving your donation ... it will be received immediately!
I apologize for asking all of you to go through another online donation process, but I promise it will only take a couple of minutes. The details have been simplified and there's now no minimum donation amount.
To contribute in US dollars:

To contribute in Brazilian Reais:

To give a short update on the project. Today I brought the audio files to a recording studio in Rio de Janeiro where I mixed my first CD. Mixing will begin tomorrow! So, I'm not waiting for support to come in, but hopefully it will....
All the best, and again, THANKS!!
Scott
Update #9: We tried
Hello everyone,
I wish I had better news, but the project ended yesterday and didn't meet its goal. We only made it to 50% (R$5,000), so it's automatically cancelled and your credit cards won't be charged.
I plan to finish "Accents" by other means, but exactly when it will be finished and released I can't say. If you'd like to know when it's available, please join my mailing list at www.scottfeiner.com.
Again, I'd like to THANK all of you for your support and generosity!
All the best,
Scott
Update #8: Just about 50%
Hi everyone and THANKS to all new backers!
Thanks to a very generous pledge we're now just a few dollars away from 50% of the goal. Completing the remaining 50% ($5,000) in 4 days is pretty unlikely, but why give up now?!!
The project has 40 backers at the moment. I just did a little bit of math to see how many more backers we'd need at a few pledge levels to meet the goal at this point:
200 backers at the $25 level
100 backers at the $50 level
50 backers at the $100 level.
Anyway, you get the idea. So, fingers crossed! If you can, please spread the word.
Thanks!
Scott
Update #7: 7 days to go
Hi everyone. THANKS to all new backers since the last update.
Well, we've got 7 days left and we're only 15% funded. For sure it's not looking good, but I'm continuing to spread the word. On a positive note, a very prominent percussion company in Brazil has offered pledge a $1,000. But at the moment that would only bring us to just over $2,500. Still a long way off.
So, if you can, please spread the word.
Thanks!
Scott
Update #6: A better day
Hi all. It looks like today's emailing was fruitful. There were about 5 pledges made today. THANKS to everyone for their generosity and taking the time to get involved with this! So, now we're at 13% funded, with 12 days to go. It's a long shot, but I'm going to keep pushing until the last day!
Fingers crossed!
Until the next post....
Scott
Update #5: Only 2 weeks left
Hi everyone. As always, I like to start by thanking my new backers!
Things are NOT looking very good folks. Only 14 days remaining and the project hasn't even reached 10% of the goal yet. Where's the love?? I know there are a lot of people out there who are interested in the next Pandeiro Jazz CD so I can only guess at the cause of this low response. The time of year? Or maybe the economy in general? Now, with the crisis in Haiti, of course many people will point their generosity there (as they should!).
But what people need to realize is that for the cost of a cheap lunch they can help make this happen!
Again, if you can, I ask you to help spread the word to friends, family and music lovers!
Thanks for being involved....
Scott
Update #4: Only 3 weeks to go
Hello from VERY HOT Rio de Janeiro!!!
As always, I must start my updates by welcoming the new backers and most importantly, thanking them. So, THANKS!!
Well friends.... Unfortunately we're only at 9% of the goal and we only have 3 weeks remaining. Of course it's not the time to give up!! Not yet! I think 3 weeks is still enough time, but for sure I'm going to need a lot of help. So, PLEASE, if you have friends who you think would enjoy this new CD please encourage them to get involved.
Thanks!
Until the next update....

Update #3: Now that the new year has started!
Hi everyone and welcome to my new backers. Thanks for being a part of this! So far I've received over $700 in pledges, which is great, but that's not even 10% of the funding goal, so there's still a LONG way to go to make this happen by January 31st. I hope that all of you can help spread the word to your friends and those who love music.
Just to update you about my latest Pandeiro Jazz activities in general. I spent a good part of the holidays composing some new music. My composing inspiration tends to come in waves (and not that often!!), so when it comes I try to take advantage of it. At the moment I have 3 new compositions and ideas for at least a couple more. My plan is to record all of them for the 4th Pandeiro Jazz CD .... but first, let's make the 3rd one, "Accents", happen! ;-)
Other than that I'm trying to get some shows booked for 2010.
That's it for now.
Until the next update!
Scott
Update #2: Nice feedback
Hi everyone. To those who pledged since my first update, THANKS for being a part of this! Things are off to a slow start, but let's hope that things will pick up momentum after January 4th. I hope so!
A couple of days ago a friend was visiting and I played him some of the tunes from "Accents" and he commented that it might be the best Pandeiro Jazz recording to date ... nice!
Really, besides the funding situation there won't be much to update you about. I know who I want to mix and master the recording. Who I want to do the cover artwork, etc, etc.. I even know the order of the songs for the CD! Only one thing missing..... CASH! Once I have it the rest will be easy.
Wishing you all a great 2010 and I'll be in touch next week.
Best,
Scott
Update #1: First day thanks
Hello everyone! I knew it was risky to launch my project during the holidays, but I was too excited about it to wait until they were over. I was really happy to get 8 backers (totaling $420) during the first 24 hours that the project was launched. The backers include both friends and people I had never met before, from Brazil, the US and Europe. So, thanks to all of you for your generosity and interest in the new CD! My plan now is to wait until after New Years is over before really starting to promote this project more aggressively. Hopefully people will be back in front of their computers by then and still have a little money left after all the holiday shopping ;-).
I hope all of you will help spread the word as well if you can. Remember, unless the full $10,000 is reached by January 31st the project won't happen!
I'd like to wish everyone happy holidays and a great 2010!!
Until the next update.....
