VERY EXCITED to announce we have secured an interview with former DEA agent Sean Dunagan.

Also I wanted to encourage everyone to follow us on twitter @theculturehigh and on Facebook this film was made possible by the power of social media and social media will be the KEY factor in making the release of this film, widespread and impactful.

So please, anytime any of you can drive traffic to the films social media sites is GREATLY appreciated. We will be doing a full update of all our social media sites, including launching the films website, we HOPE to have all of these updates done by the end of the month or early June.

Hey Kickstarter Supporters!

This sunday's shoot was a HUGE success, we truly we able to get some AMAZING footage with Dr. Gabor Maté and former Vancouver police officer and solicitor general Kash Heed, our minds are still spinning from the knowledge they dropped on us.

We are shooting several HUGE grow ops next week, really excited to get some great B-roll and cinematic footage, we will of course keep you all up to date after the shoot day.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful May long weekend, the crew and I have forfeited our weekend to research and interview the brilliant Dr. Gabor Maté, truly SOOO EXCITED to sit down and learn from this man.

Kash formerly served as the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General of British Columbia. He was formerly chief constable of the West Vancouver Police Department and a former superintendent with the Vancouver Police Department and was the first Indo-Canadian police chief in Canada.

Really excited to shoot this weekend, going to be a LONG production day, up at 5am drive to Vancouver, then shoot for 10-11hrs then drive back to Kelowna, but its SOO WORTH he lack of sleep for these interviews.

So The Culture High team is REALLY excited to announce that we have recently added and very talented member to our production crew,  Andrew Napier.

Andrew recently won an Oscar for his work on the short film "Curfew"

We are also excited to announced that the renowned physician and addiction specialist Dr. Gabor Maté has agreed to be part of "The Culture High".

 We are truly honoured to have Dr. Maté part of the project, and I am sincerely FASCINATED to site down with Dr. Maté and learn from the knowledge he will share.

Hey Everyone!

After having an amazing conversation, with the brilliant and always interesting Dr. Lester Grinspoon yesterday, I thought I would share and post another update.

For those of you who don't know who Dr. Lester Grinspoon is, Dr. Lester Grinspoon is Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Grinspoon was senior psychiatrist at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston for 40 years and was the closing interview in The Union. Its hard to express in words how excited Lester is that we are making The Culture High as a follow up to the Union, because as Lester said himself "In my opinion, The Union is best produced and most engaging and effective of all the marijuana documentary films" 

Lester assured me yesterday, that not only is he thrilled to be apart of The Culture High, but he's excited to share not only his extensive knowledge, but many of his personal stories as well.

WE COULDN'T BE MORE HONOURED, to be able to capture some of Lester's amazing personal stories and share them with the rest of the world in a compelling and thought provoking way, and what ever doesn't make it into the film will surly be on the DVD extra's.

P.S Dr. Grinspoon also LOVES the fact, this film was created by the people to help get the information out there, he too agree's it makes this film extra special.

The Culture High website and Facebook page are currently being designed and re-vamped by Brett and Stephen (Director & Editor) dont have a hard date, just yet, on when these will be completed, but once they are done we will be ontop of social media like crazy, maybe even to the point where we are pestering everyone? lol, I hope not, but we should have lots of daily vlogs, photo's and other cool and interesting stuff.

Across the pond

Currently we are organizing our first large shoot, we are hoping to line everything up for the end of May, and we are heading across the pond. It's going be a hectic and gruelling 10 day adventure into Europe, but we are excited. The Shoot would have us going to the UK, Spain, and Holland if all goes according to plan, lots of VERY interesting academics, political figures and a celebrity or two, if all goes well.

 So as much as we hoped to be able to attend some of the 4/20 events across the North American landscape to film, sadly we will not be able to get to them. Thank you everyone for all the amazing offers, to so many great events, but the great news is, most of the events will have news coverage that we can always acquire down the road.

More Non-magical parts of film making

Because of all the travel needed for this project combined with the always sensitive subject matter of Cannabis, our lawyer has suggested we really do are due diligence as far as legal documentation to travel. This requires MORE daunting paperwork in the form of, legal certificates, visa's, carnet applications, and insurance, AHHHHHHH!

GOOD NEWS IS, WE ARE NEAR THE END, of this boring, mind-numbing paperwork! We are as excited as you are to get on to our next shoot and CANT WAIT to update you with videos, production stills and more.
