About this project

Over the next 60 days I will be partnering with the website Kickstarter.com in an attempt to raise $24,000. This is only possible with your help and support which will enable me to build my production company, Score G Productions. This will be "The production company created FOR the indie community BY the indie community" and will be instrumental in helping me kick start my next project, “Ice Guardians”. I know it sounds like a lot money in a short period of time, but I wouldn’t take this on if I did not believe we could accomplish this goal and I sincerely need EVERYONE’S participation to be successful.

Being a young father and indie producer is very challenging in a world that tends to encourage people to live a traditional 9 – 5 life rather than pursue one’s dreams! There are times when I wish I did not have the creative passion for film making as it takes a huge effort and a lot of support from friends and family, but without this, I wouldn’t be who I am and would never have been part of creating the inspirational cult classic "The Union, the Business Behind Getting High".

It is hard for people to understand without personal experience how hard it is to make a compelling feature length documentary movie, and how limited the chances are of the film being successful (particularly on your first try). However, as a result of gathering a great team that was both dedicated and passionate, we were very fortunate with my first doc, "The Union, the business Behind Getting High". It was selected to 33 international film festivals, earned several "Best Feature Documentary awards" and is rated the 17th highest rated documentary of all time by popular vote on IMDB. It has in fact become a bit of a cult classic.

I highlight the success of this film only to personally assure each of you that your donation will be going to create a company with people that have an early track record of success. The money received through your generous donations will go to cover costs such as converting a basement storage room into a useable office, incorporation of the company, legal contracts, website creation, securing talent and lastly to fund my next documentary called “Ice Guardians”.

Ice Guardians is intended to be an in depth look at the role of the enforcer in the National & American Hockey Leagues. This critical role in the world of professional hockey is both misunderstood and underappreciated. It compares well to the movie “The Wrestler” in which the wrestling is not the focus of the movie, but rather it is Mickey Rourke's character and what he endures to be part of the sport that is so compelling and as a result was nominated for two Oscars. In hockey, what these enforcers must endure similar physical and mental stress and abuse, but additionally live in a world where losing a couple of on ice skirmishes could result in being traded or a shortened career. This does not even consider the stress of a potential career ending injury. My hope is to make this film attractive to more than just hockey fans by focusing on the more human side on these enforcers and how their role personally effects both them and their families.

My true passion in addition to being creative is to focus on very compelling topics that both stimulate interest and educate people. The one quality that separates me from other filmmakers is that I am not in the industry simply to make a lot of money. The passion that drives me is to make thought provoking films that inspire the world in a positive way.

Currently, I am burning the candle at both ends by dividing my time between a corporate job and producing films whereby I am hoping to dedicate 100 percent of my time to creating inspirational films. With your support I will be able to do just that.

The major road block for the indie filmmakers like me is that studios are less concerned with the film being thought provoking or educational and are far more concerned with the bottom line. I know there are people out there like me that want to watch these great films instead of focusing strictly on box office results. However, as with most projects in life, there is a cost associated with creation that comes with a cost that must be funded and this is where your support is so badly needed.

The good news is that in addition to helping to develop great movies, you will also be rewarded for your contribution. Rewards vary from autographed copies of my last documentary or a special thanks in the credits of my next film. It could even result in being invited to the red carpet premier and after party of my next feature film, including a signed jersey from one of the NHL players in the film and free consultation with my sales agent for a film project you may want to bring to life!

In summary, with the different levels of pledges, there are a lot of really cool prizes and of course the more you donate the more you will get in return! However, if we do not raise the full $24,000 by August 26th, I will get nothing. In addition, you will not be charged and unfortunately will not receive your prize and all will be lost! Without your help "Ice Guardians" might never get made!

Over the years I have been a part of some really cool organizations and I've always believed in supporting worthwhile causes and I certainly hope you see this as one, so let's do this together!

I believe in you and I wouldn’t have made it this far in my career without grass roots help from individual such as you and now it’s time to take Score G Productions to a whole new level. YOU are my movie studio and together we can change the film industry forever.
Thank you so much for your support,

Kind Regards

Adam Scorgie
