More Progress!
Still making lots of progress, mostly with the frontend jQuery tweaks that will make the interface I sent in the last update very usable and more importantly - maintainable for the future. I've put in a lot of things to the new Admin UI that will make growth throughout Pods 2.x very easy, both in terms of implementing more options as they are developed, as well as the UI being able to accommodate it without seeming too busy.
For those wondering.. Yes I've been working on 2.0 past the date I initially set for myself as a goal to get the Alpha testing phase started. We ran into some delays on the frontend side, which I ended up having to bring together some other frontend developers and get them trained and work within their schedules.
Jonathan, the primary UI contributor so far ended up having some schedule conflicts that at first seemed workable within what we were trying to do, but ended up being much more than he could do comfortably. Luckily, the Kickstarter did so well that I was able to quickly put a budget on the frontend work and hire some other excellent frontend developers. The only problem there is that I've had to add time to work with them and get them trained on the direction we've been headed, as well as adjust to their schedule which with short notice hasn't been possible to get them working on it 100% full force. This week we've got more progress lined up, so I'll be posting some more updates with more screenshots soon. The remaining UI is going to be falling into place quickly after this last major chunk that we're working on, so an Alpha testing period is finally approaching!
Thank you all for your patience, I'll continue to put every ounce of energy I've got into making sure Pods 2.0 is awesome, performance-driven, and easy to use.
