Hello Fabulous Folks,

Another adventure to Ohio is complete and oh boy was it magical! This time Ive come home, having recorded my entire record!! Last week I had the privelage of spending two full productive days at Suma Studios with a crew of amazing musicians and the amazing sound engineer Paul Hammon, laying down tracks for this record to be called "Chasing A Feeling."

To think, this time last year I had not yet met David Mayfield and his Parade, and now about 11 months later, they've joined me on The Clanton Road to help me make my dream album!  The whole time I spent in Ohio I just kept thanking my lucky stars to have such an amazing team helping me build this record of great tunes.  It really was a team effort and I couldn't have done it without them and YOU! It was also something special to have gotten to sing into the same mic that Gillian Welsh and countless other amazing artists have sung into.  The vibe of Suma Studios was inspirational and infectious. 

As we speak, David Mayfield is working his producer magic on my tunes, putting the final touch ups and polish on them. While he is doing that, I am home getting the other pieces of this puzzle togehter. Theres still much to be done! The songs must be mastered, the artwork must be designed, the cds and vinyls must be pressed, tshirts and posters must be made, Kickstarter packages must be bundled up, release parties, tours and promotion must be planned...So hold on folks! Im hard at work getting this incredible journey into physical form and into your hands and communities. 

If you would like to be a part of the cd release cello-bration, let me know, Id love to come to your community and play a show in your town, in a house concert setting or venue. All ideas are welcome!  Shoot me an email at clantoncellotree@gmail.com and we can work something out.

Good Evening Dream Makers and HELLO from Ohio! 

Its ALL HAPPENING!!! Tomorrow we start recording this album! WOOOOO Here we go! Thank you for making it possible! Its so wonderful to have you all, my wonderful community of supporters here behind me. Seriously! You guys rock  :)

I'm so excited to be working with some seriously stellar talent on this project: Jason Edwards on drums, Mike Lenz on guitar, and David Mayfield, our producer extrodinaire.  In the morning we head into Suma Studios to start laying down these tracks!! This weekend we have been rehearsing and these songs are cookin! We definitely are ready to make the most out of the next three days at Suma to deliver you all a fabulous record.

Also, big thanks in advance to photographer Jeffrey Ferguson! Jeff is coming to hang out with us at Suma tomorrow and capture this studio experience. Its going to be great to have him there helping us document this epic time.  Jeff came and took some fantastic pictures at the PBS Bluegrass Underground special that I played with The David Mayfield Parade in February 2012 and I'm thrilled to have his talents on this project as well.  

Thanks again for riding along with us and being a part of my first album! You ALL are a part of Sarah Schaffer & The Clanton Road, and I couldnt do it without you.

For your holiday delight, I've recorded a little rendition of "White Christmas"  (click the song title there to link you to the song). Coming to ya live from The Schaffers :) Being raised in Maryland and Colorado, I'm used to chillier Christmases...so I am definitely dreaming of a White Christmas this year. However, the Beach Boys holiday tunes that just came on Sirus are so fitting for this most glorious Florida weather. Its hard not to be thankful and there's no where else I'd rather be!

2012 has been such a wild ride and I'm thankful for the ups and downs and all arounds of opportunity this year has provided. Thank you all for being a part of this journey!! In less than two weeks I will be back in Ohio, recording my first full length record...and I have YOU all to thank for this opportunity. I can not wait to share with you all the events and happenings that are to come!

AIE AIE AIE!!!! WE DID IT!! YOU DID IT!! We have reached our goal!! This journey would not be possible without you all and I am so deeply, genuinely, tremendously moved by your support!
