Last October, jazzy/folk-rock singer/songwriter brought you,
'The Only Way Out is Through,' her debut, 11-song CD, and YOU helped. She has been touring the country vigorously ever since, garnering positive response from press, radio, and a steadily growing fan-base.
She has YOU to thank.
Now, she is back in the studio, busily engaged in a new project, titled,
'When Boys Cry.'
The songs chosen for this record reflect heart-felt questions, introspection, a depthful understanding of human nature, and a pop-savvy method of perpetuating the folk-rock feel of the first record. Blacker draws upon the stylings of Feist, Rickie Lee Jones and even Beck's renowned album, 'Sea Change' to establish the sonic template for this recording. She employs some of the same musicians as on the first record, but a number of special guests too.
37' Productions, Sean McLaughlin, [Blacker's bassist and vocal-recording/mixing engineer] is Blacker's co-pilot for this project, and the two have set out to create a modern gem, fused with story-telling, picture-painting, and old-time reference, and a whole lot of heart too.
YOU, the listener, the fan, the family, the friends have asked for new music, and independently, Sarah Blacker is doing her very best to bring it to you as quickly as possible. She has been working part-time as a Music Therapist for children with special needs, and performing almost every day to be able to do this.
She has been creatively connecting with YOU at every chance she gets, at live-shows, via facebook, twitter, youtube, her mailing list and website, and now is her chance to reach out to YOU, with the hopes that YOU might reach right back.
Your contributions to this process will go towards the mixing and mastering of the record, as well as the duplication and album artwork, so that each and every one of YOU will have a physical CD to hold in your hands, and file carefully amongst your other favorite musical efforts.
