A story about a boy with a birthmark and how every child in the world is unique and special in their own way.

About the Project
We were inspired to write the children's book, Sam’s Birthmark, when our son Barron was born with a port wine stain on his face. Every child in the world is unique and special in their own way, and certain special characteristics make them shine as an individual. We want to show this message through a book with the child having a birthmark.
What We Have
Illustrations:
Mary Anne Smiley is one of the top designers in Dallas. However, her passion is illustrating a childrens book and she did the watercolor drawings for us. Here is a sample:

The copy was written by Martha and Grant Griffin & Edited by Carole Rice. Here is a sample of the copy illustrating Sam's mother's confidence building words.

We know our friends and family will be great supporters. But our biggest challenge is reaching school teachers and the birthmark community so they are aware of Sam's Birthmark. We are contacting as many organizations as possible.
