This project is to fund Beta Test prototypes of Job Creator, an exciting new Board Game! Do you have what it takes to be a Job Creator?
Job Creator is a game that has been nearly 2 years in the making! After extensive revision and Alpha Testing, it is time to Beta Test prior to production of the game!
A Beta Test works best when multiple copies of the game are widely distributed and play tested without interference by the Designer. To do this effectively costs money. Not as much as actual game production, but the cost of producing and shipping the prototypes must be covered! With this beta test campaign, the goal is to produce a minimum of 20 prototypes and get them in the hands of game enthusiasts throughout the country!
In Job Creator, YOU are a part of the 1%! In a small town, you own a production facility and a small shop, employing the people of your town and selling them stuff. Everything works fine until one of your competitors buys a franchise and gets a jump on you with increased efficiency and advertising! Can you fine-tune your business empire to keep pace? Just as you learn to deal with the franchises, “Big Box” stores come to town, shaking things up yet again! Manage your empire well and you will become the top Job Creator!
Job Creator combines “worker placement” and “rondel” gaming with an exciting, current and relevant game theme!
Any funds in excess of the goal (and the cost of fulfilling rewards) will be applied to the cost the full production version of the game.
All Rewards will receive all updates to printed game components and rules (in PDF format) up to the launch of the Production version of Job Creator.
The following have been added to the backer rewards:
$25 - Addition of 1 production copy of Job Creator (when available)
$100 - Addition of 3 production copies of Job Creator (when available)
$250 - Addition of 8 production copies of Job Creator (when available)
$1500 - Addition of 8 production copies of Job Creator (when available)

As the game is still in development and will likely change before production, instead of posting the full rules, I will summarize here. If you have specific questions about the rules, I will answer them on a one-to-one basis.
Job Creator(?) simplifies the economics of a small town. There are 5 resources (Farm, Factory, Cloth, Paper & Wood) which are produced in 5 production facilities (Farm, Factory, Textile Mill, Paper Mill, Lumber Mill). These resources can be turned into 8 different goods that can be offered for sale (Groceries, Clothing, Dining, Hardware, Books, Fine Dining, Electronics & Furniture). These good are produced and sold by 8 different basic merchants (Grocery Store, Clothing Store, Diner, Hardware Store, Book Store, Upscale Restaurant, Electronics Store & Furniture Store).
At the beginning of the game, players start with a combination of production facilities and basic merchants. Throughout the game players hire workers, expand their businesses, produce and buy resources, and sell goods.
Players choose actions by moving around a "Rondel." Here is a summary of the actions a player can take:
Demand: This action allows the player to set the demand for goods in the town.
Produce: This action allows the player to either produce resources in their production facilities or goods in their basic merchant.
Restructure: With this action the player can add more facilities and workers to their business, or remove facilities and workers.
Buy: This action allows the player to purchase necessary resources from other players.
Invest: This action allows the player to invest in "Big Box" stores, which will eventually open in town.
Market: With this action the player offers goods for sale, and may advertise their goods.
Sell: This action allows the player to sell their goods to the population.
Players win by accumulating the most Victory Points, which are primarily awarded by paying workers.
Those are the basics...
I want to back the project, but prototypes aren't my thing. Can you add some Production copies to your rewards?
Done! Check update #3 for details about production rewards for backing the prototype project!
