Hey everyone sorry for the delay. I was going to have the update last weekend but ran into a few problems. Anyways:
1: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
If you do not live in the United States and wish to order the book please add $10 for international shipping.
The Prologue kinda through some people off track about what the book was about. I am cleaning it up to make it more clear.
Gravity One is about a space ship that journeys around the galaxy in search for a habitable planet for humankind. The Prologue of the book was to explain the events leading up to the book. From the moon landing, to the International space station, and the world devastation of the economy and global ecosystem. The major governments then decided to team up in an effort to launch a space ship in search for a new planet.
The book will be approx. 10 chapters starting with the launch of Gravity One and ending with The War!
The book will be finished by late October and will ship in November of this year. Gravity One will be a story about the launch of the ship, the exploration of space, the different species they encounter, and they find a planet.
Its sequel will come next year and will focus on the new planet and a dangerous enemy.
On July 20th, 1969 the first humans landed on the moon. Apollo 11 landed with 3 three people Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin Jr. In 1998 the United States of America along with Russia and Europe joined together to build a modular structure space station orbiting Earth. The International Space Station went on to be upgraded and manned for 44 years, the year 2042. The failing economy, world population becoming too much to bear, and global warming affecting the planet in drastic ways effected the funding for all Space Programs. Governments at the time were in chaos and closing their borders. Between 2042 and 2067 all communications between governments were cut off and the world stood still.
In January 2068 the United States and Russia along with China and England signed a treaty to help combat the problems that Planet Earth was facing. They needed a way to leave the Planet. The Governments reopened their borders and started several Space Programs to travel to the Moon, Mars, and long distance space flight.
The International Space Program first priory was to find another planet like Earth. The Space Program put most of its effort toward “Gravity One”. Gravity One was a Space Ship designed for long term space travel to seek out another planet. In late 2074 the Space Program launched the “Moon Base”. The Moon Base was home to most scientists studying ways to use the Moon for its resources. Later that decade “The Mars Express” left Earth and landed on Mars. After the success of the Mars mission, the Space Program continued its efforts to find ways to make Gravity One’s mission easier.
Gravity One was set to launch in the year 2100 in hopes of finding another planet capable of colonization. With only 20 years till the launch of Gravity One the Space Program needed to step up and get moving. In 2085, the Space Program started construction on Gravity One. Gravity One was an enormous ship that was going to be built with the latest technology the Space Program will be developing over the next 15 years.
Gravity One was the last hope for humanity. It needed a crew of well skilled and knowledge men and women. The crew selection process and training started as they needed to find 38 well trained soldiers. By 2090, the Space Program have started training over 50 soldiers for the Gravity One mission and the top 38 would be selected to go on the mission.
The Moon Base and Mars Express missions were going well as they were developing ways to make Gravity One’s mission more successful as well as establishing self-sufficient bases. The Moon Base was able to hold up to 2,250 people at the time and was self-sufficient. They could survive up there for decades. The Mars Express Station could only hold up to 500 people for decades.
The Space Program was continually updating both the missions to support more people as a backup plan in case Gravity One did not make it. Earth was a dying Planet; global warming was at an all-time high. The United Governments didn’t know how many years they had left on the planet.
In 2094, the Space Program doubled the size of the Moon Base holding up to 5,500 people and was even more self-sufficient. The Mars Express Station was upgraded to hold 600 people mostly scientists as this was home to most of the experiments for technology aboard the Gravity One.
The year 2098 was already here. Gravity One was finishing up production and new technology was being installed onboard. The ship was capable of traveling in FTL (Faster than Light) for around 6 hours before having to take 10 hour charge time. They were trying their hardest to make the engines more efficient. The ship had both defense and offensive systems for security purposes as well as food storage for decades. The crew for the ship was all picked out Captain Ryan, Commander John, and Lieutenant-Commander Melissa were the officers selected.
With less than 2 years left until the launch of Gravity One, the governments continued their hard work to put every drop of resources aboard this ship. In 2099 the ship was almost complete making its final productions and the newest technologies aboard including the new FTL Version 2 with up to 8 hours of travel and only a 9 hour charge time. The days leading up to the launch are getting closer and closer………..the time is now!
