This is a short film that I plan on shooting this May using a small, dedicated crew, a few friends and a group of talented actors. I'm hoping to raise enough money to cover expenses such as equipment rentals and location fees.

Story:

'Social Studies' is an eyelet into the ADD-addled mind of a boy with nothing to say and no one to say it to.

The clock is ticking. It's seventh period and Vern, a struggling high school student,  fights to keep his imagination at bay as he dreads having to share the senior project he has been unable to begin.

While the other students share their assignments, Vern desperately tries to disappear into the cacophony of the chattering classroom, but it's only a matter of time before it's his turn...

When the teacher calls on him, he panics, accidentally inhaling his pen top.

Now running out of time - and oxygen - Vern loses control over his mind, and as he hovers between life and death he finds himself suspended between reality and the runaway slideshow of his imagination. 

This story of a struggling student wrestling with a crippling disorder will be shot on location in Brooklyn, NY. The space is reserved and the team is assembling.
