"This City" is a single off the album "S.O.S.", the latest studio release from musician and Hip Hop artist Ruyonga. The song is a celebration of unity and positivity, even in the midst of division and self defeating mentalities. Many Local communities and Churches are tired of the moniker "Sin City" and have started individual campaigns to change the name. This endeavor, though well meant, is ineffective simply because everyone has agreed that the city needs a name change, but no one seems to agree on what that new name is. So a few of us came together to do a song celebrating what we DO agree upon.

That This City will no longer be called Sin City. We even made a shirt to go with the song that allows everyone to be individuals about their new name and campaign while still doing it from a unified standpoint. Changing the name "Sin City" is going to take all of us!

 

There is nothing like support from the people!

The response to the album and in particular this song "THIS CITY"! has been amazing, from crowd reactions at performances to the few hundred sold in under two months, and with no corporately backed or manipulated advertising and promotion, just community and church support, individual social netwrorking and word of mouth. We are excited to include everyone in the proccess of taking the exposure of this song to the next level, which is visually and eventually virally. This is the visual age, and people literally want to see what you are saying. The audio format of the modern message is no longer enough.

That said, Explaining and properly representing a message like this is going to take help. Its going to take money. We're talking about changing one of the most famous nicknames in the world, so we HAVE to do this right. And that goes from involving good cameras, lighting, cameramen, extras, permits, props, to getting the word out, street and internet promo, the works. Its go hard or go home, and weighty goals seem way less weighty on 300 backs than they do on 3, so the more "Backers" the better :)

But more than anything we believe this is a movement. A community standpoint. This is simply the soundtrack to what many people in the city, and the world were already saying. We're tired of the negativity, it's time for more positivity. We've never looked at this as our song and message, but OUR song and message. We're simply coming together to make OUR video.

 

We are so excited to make this a reality! But We are even more excited to give for what we get!!

A: YES! 5,000 is just the beginning of our campaign to create, release and market this video. We have a whole bunch of internet AND street promotion planned for the release of this Video, and every penny earned from this campaign will go towards making, marketing and promoting it.
