Rue Lafayette is a small café which is very special and whimsical.
We opened two years ago. It is unique in the sense that people don’t come to just work on their laptops and zone everything out, our customers have made this a real community. People meet, laugh, mingle and make amazing connections every day. Our coffee and food is always delicious, we use the best products available. We also offer local musicians a place to play and perform. We have live Jazz every weekend and we also do book/poetry readings, art/photography shows and anything we can to promote local talent. Our staff is a real family; we are drama-free and love what we do.
Having started only two years ago and being very small we have out-grown the equipment we started with and need to produce more! We need a new oven and we also want to start our own herb garden on the roof. Ovens start at $11,000 but this would allow us to accommodate the large quantity of people that come to Rue Lafayette. We also have events and parties at night and need that capability.
One of our most popular items are Parisian Croissants also homemade Quiche and bread pudding made of chocolate croissants and all of this requires baking. We want to keep up with the demand so please be a part of our growth so we can keep bringing you the very best in food, atmosphere, music and fun!

Rue Lafayette is a labor of love! We rehabbed an old building from the 1920's, the project was self-funded and it has become more than a Cafe. It is a meeting place, a community, an escape for people! We love what we do, this is our life!
