Ruby Dee and the Snakehandlers have been rocking grown-ups with our high octane Americana roots and rockabilly sounds for over 10 years now, and in that time, we've noticed that a large number of our fans and friends keep having babies!

Taking into consideration that most venues are not kid-friendly, in order to continue to see all our pals, we've been playing a lot more afternoon and early evening gigs where folks can bring the little ones and everyone can enjoy their favorite rockabilly-roots music. 

Taking that one step further, we realized that many parents might not personally enjoy most children's music that's out there. So why not provide our friends with something made specifically for the little ones' ears and minds that will appeal to both kids and Mommies and Daddies alike?!

And there you have it- the idea and creation of Rockabilly Playground! All Americana Roots and Rockabilly original songs by Ruby Dee and the Sbakehandlers, with lyrics written specifically for the kiddos, and musicality with Mommy and Daddy in mind :-)

Dionysus Records has agreed wholeheartedly to put out this album, but the costs of putting it together lays in our hands. So we need your help in covering the recording costs, mixing and mastering, and artwork.

The costs are as follows: $2000 to record, $500 to mix and master, and $500 for the artwork! So all we need to raise for those basics is $3000, with your help!! And not only do you get the satisfaction of helping us make this really FUN project come together, but you also get the great thank you gifts for your generous assistance, AND our undying gratitude!!

There are other costs involved with the project: paying the rhythm section for all their hard work and time ($400), postage and printing costs ($200), and printing and pressing the pledge CDs & gifts ($1000). We would LOVE to raise all the funds we need to cover ALL of the costs, yet are only initially asking for the basics needed to record the CD in the first place.

But here's the caveat, if we don't raise all the funds- the basic $3000- we get none of it. We get no funding, you don't get charged your pledge, you don't get your thank you gift, and the album doesn't get made. So to make sure everyone WINS, please make your pledge now, and we'll all enjoy this wonderful album!

Jorge and I just got through with over ten years of paying off past debts from the original Snakehandlers, and we really really really would like to not go into debt again.
