We're moving along right on schedule! Today Louis came back to play some acoustic guitar, and now David from SAJ on the Upper West Side is here rockin' the upright double bass. Having a great time and things are sounding amazing! Tomorrow I head to Crown Heights in Brooklyn to record piano tracks on a beautiful upright piano. Jay Rapoport has been a Jewish educator for over 10 years in large congregations in the Washington D.C. area and New York City. Throughout his career he has led music education for religious schools and camps and has always sought to make Jewish music more accessible to the community. Simultaneously, he has built a reputation as a talented singer, pianist, and award-winning songwriter with 8 albums and 5 bands on his resume. He has a strong connection with the Jewish music community through Hava Nashira, the Jewish music conference, and has performed with well-known Jewish musicians including Craig Taubman and Josh Nelson. Jay studied piano and vocal performance at Berklee College of Music and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Religious Education at Hebrew Union College in NYC.
