Royal Cherry Leathers started in 2004, after the custom leather shop I'd apprenticed at for 4 years finally closed. I was on my own with skills and knowledge, but not a clear vision. I was fortunate enough to have amazing people around me that really helped to encourage me to keep working and developing as an artist and craftsman.
I've never looked back. While still working from home, I'm outfitted to take on bigger and more elaborate projects all the time.
In order to keep growing and expanding we have to forge more of a presence with our customers. Vending at conventions like Arisia is a great way for us to get out there, meet people, and form those relationships that only face to face contact can make.
We need people that want to be a part of getting us there with enough product to enhance the experience of everyone attending in January. Great vendors can absolutely help to make a great show, and we ARE great vendors!
The funds will go toward
Materials- New leather, hardware, accoutrements
Tools- Snap setter, more cutting tools, more carving tools
Expanding/Updating the workshop so we'll have better space for more people
Paying staff- We're adding a new person to help us get ready for the show
Show costs - Booth space, travel to and from the event
We're excited about using Kickstarter for the first time, and hope that we can reach our goal of getting to Arisia, and making it the best one yet!
