Roxie Watson is ready to head into the studio to produce our second album - more of your new favorite Alterna-grass songs, comin' up!
THE PROJECT: We are Roxie Watson, a 5-piece string band out of Atlanta, GA. All five of us sing and write songs, and since the release of our 2010 debut album, "True Stories" (available at www.cdbaby.com/RoxieWatson), we've been working up a whole stack of new, original "alterna-grass" songs. We've been testing our new material out on our wonderful, devoted audience (we have the BEST FANS EVER!). At our shows people keep asking us, "Where can I get a copy of those new songs you're playing?" Well ... we're finally ready to head into the studio and record a brand new record for you. We think these songs are even better than what we have on our first cd, so we are really excited about getting started! Our project is to record, mix, master, and manufacture our second full-length album.
THE PLAN: Right now we're in "pre-production mode." We've got more new original songs than we can fit on one record, so we've been busy fine-tuning our arrangements and getting everything lined up so that we're ready to hit the ground running when we get into the studio. We've all set aside the last week of September, 2011, to record the album at Earthshaking Studios (http://earthshakingstudios.com/), with engineer Scott Trinh. We have dates already scheduled for mixing, too, with our friend and co-producer, Dede Vogt. Once that's done, it's on to mastering and finally having the CDs manufactured & packaged. Our banjo player and graphic designer, Sonia Tetlow, will put together all the artwork for this cd, just as she did for our first one - she does AWESOME work. (We know we're lucky!) We promise to get a new picture made, too - we know ... it's time. : )
KICKSTARTER FUNDS: We are hopeful that the money we're able to raise through Kickstarter will cover the cost of completing our new album - recording, mixing, mastering, photography, artwork production, manufacturing & packaging, etc. - everything that goes into making a quality record for YOU! We've got our voices, our instruments and our songs, all tuned up and ready. The only missing piece is the financial means to make this thing happen.
