About this project
"A History of Human Stupidity" is an intellectual vaudeville-variety show in three acts and a roast that examines world history through the lens of helpful beliefs gone bad. It is Rough and Tumble’s first commission for the stage, and second collaboration with acclaimed playwright and former Neo-Futurist Andy Bayiates ("43 Plays for 43 Presidents"). This history geek-out is performed by five energetic actors and one resourceful musician, who will first define human stupidity (which is harder than you think), then take the audience on a journey from stupid human behavior to culture-specific moments of stupidity to the top five dumbest people in human history.
And here's where you come in. Commissioning and producing a new play takes a lot of money--for things like theater rental, rehearsal space, mandatory liability insurance, and artists' fees. So please, pledge what you can to help us bring Stupidity to the masses!
Performance Dates: April 9 thru April 25. Thursday, Friday, Saturday Nights at 8pm, Sundays 7pm
La Val's Subterranean Theatre, 1834 Euclid, Berkeley, CA
