      Hello Bill,

I just sent you a direct E-mail via the backers report. Please respond to it so I can make sure your E-mail is the newsletter database. Also, as usual, check your spam folder.

I understand your desire not to be a tester but remember, the Rovio robot is a specialty item and a discontinued one at that. So the usual pool of ready testers a popular current electronics item or software only package would have is not available and if everyone takes your stance, then finding testers at all from a meager pool of 140 is obviously very difficult.

      Sincerely,
      Robert

Thanks for the quick response. Despite signing up for your release list I had received no e-mails. I have checked your website occasionally for announcement of availability and have seen none. I backed the kickstarter project for "A full fledged copy of Robodance Pro 5," not to be an Alpha release tester. I will download it and see how it works out.

      Hello Bill,

Despite sending out numerous updates and the fact there are over 100 backers I have had a tough time getting people to test the releases and submit debug reports. In fact, there only has been 1 dedicated tester. It's as if everyone is waiting for the fully tested version before testing it. That's a deadlock and I need people to get in there and really start testing.

The system works successfully for me and I can't debug what isn't broken. Despite that there have been a ton of fixes thanks to bug reports filed by the dedicated tester and the handful of others that submitted 1 or 2 debug reports and then just stopped.

In a few days the movie recording feature with Evernote integration will be finished and that will leave only be 2 remaining features, neither major (voice control & WiiMote control) and those will be done shortly. The current version already has all the basic features and includes the biggest Pro feature, that of the compatibility with the Emotiv EPOC headset.

Have you sent in any bug reports using the Debug Report Tool? This is a great time to get personal support from the original author, a rare opportunity, and I'm happy to give you the time it takes to get you going. Pointing out rough spots in the code without filing bug reports won't get them fixed.

      Sincerely,
      Robert

      Hello Adilson,

Will do. Coding furiously even now. Please note. Robodance 5 does not alter the Rovio firmware in any way. It runs on your home PC and acts as a server that responds to Skype calls from the Robodance client. In other words, it's a middleman between your Rovio and the outside world, routing the call over Skype so you get the audio and video quality that Skype is famous for, the encryption benefits too, and the ease of connecting point to point thanks to the Skype network without your web browser getting in the way.

      Sincerely,
      Robert

Hi Robert. Let us know as soon as you have something. I'm sick and tired of the original Rovio's firmware and can't wait to see what you're cooking :)

Hello Shawn. It's going well. When I get an early prototype to test I'll make a post looking for testers from the pledgers. I don't know exactly when that will be just yet, but it's looking like some time in the next few weeks.

      Thanks, Robert.

This reward level gets everything the $20 reward level gets plus a 20 minute telepresence tour of my robot room. It is meant for those people that own or are going to buy an Emotiv EPOC EEG headset and want to see what it is like to drive a Rovio using only facial gestures and head movements before they get one of their own, or just to experience the thrill of mobile telepresence robotics. Using the Pro version of Robodance, which you get as part of your pledge, you will be assigned a time slot when you can dial into one of my Rovio robots and explore my robot room, interacting with some of the crazy robots you saw in my project video.

    Estimated delivery: Jan 2012

    8 backers Limited (2 of 10 left)

Everything the $20 pledge reward gets plus a 30 second YouTube video with my robots delivering a greeting, singing Happy Birthday or a fun Holiday message, or any other message you desire as long as it is positive in nature and not harmful or offensive. One exception, Pleo the baby dinosaur is not available since I have to do special complex scripting to animate the mouth. Check out my YouTube channel (roschler) to see samples of my funny robot videos.

    Estimated delivery: Dec 2011

    0 backers Limited (3 of 3 left)

Patron Saint Reward. Everything the $20 pledge reward gets plus a full 2 minute video *with* a custom song written just for you with my robots or myself singing the song. Pleo the baby dinosaur robot *is* available for this reward level along with all my other robots. Look for "The Plunchkins" on YouTube to see how much fun Pleo can be in a custom video. If you want a serious song, perhaps one to serenade that special someone, and want a preview of how it might sound, listen to the song in the video since I wrote and sang it.

I will spend a full 2 weeks of my time tuning the software's interface portion for the Emotiv EPOC EEG headset to suit your preferences or the needs of a loved one and provide personal support via Skype as required. The only caveat is that the changes requested to the software be feasible within the constraints of the hardware and software involved.

    Estimated delivery: Feb 2012
