About this project

**Home Stretch Update: ** WOW! Thanks for helping us reach our inital goal!!  A few (public) updates have been posted, but the long and short of it is:
1.) A hearty THANK YOU is due to everyone who's pledged so far!! Please keep em coming!
2.) We stopped the $60 and $100 rewards on December 31st so we could knock out the rest of the layout and get this into production!
3.) The digital-download master is done (and sounds great!), anyone who pledged before Xmas should have received it by now, but if not just get in touch. Anyone who's pledged since, go ahead and reach out and we'll get ya covered :)
4.) Although the minimum goal has thankfully been reached, we're still a ways from covering all the costs to this beast... so any further pledges are still very appreciated!

THE SPIEL:
TILTS is an American rock band and we are attempting to drum up 2 grand to properly release their badasś debut album on vinyl.

Based out of the heartland in St. Louis, Missouri, TILTS has only been playing together for a couple of years now, but already have self-recorded 12 songs over three sessions in drummer Ken McCray's home studio. Appropriately rough around the edges, TILTS then coughed up their own hard-earned dough for Richmond, Virginia engineer Ian Whalen (RAH BRAHS, TOMBS, LAMB OF GOD, etc) to re-mix the whole shebang.

The results are solid already, but now we need to get this thing professionally mastered and pressed into wax for Optimum Sonic Achievement!

Robotic Empire has decided to get involved since we've got a longrunning relationship with guitarist/vocalist Andrew Elstner (who was in RIDDLE OF STEEL and is now also in TORCHE) and we seriously love the material on this album! Rounded out by bassist Shawn Hart and guitar player Andy White, TILTS have delivered 12 choice songs of catchy-as-anything rock and/or roll with nice spice added in all the right places.

Although we've been a record label for 12+ years now, we still like trying new things and think Kickstarter (when used properly) can be a cool way for people to be more directly involved with a release. We are basically treating this as an "elaborate pre-order" and an experiment too, to see if this is a good method for us to release substantial material we wouldn't otherwise necessarily be able to afford.

To be blunt we are sorta skinny at the moment. This year alone (thus far) we've already pressed or re-pressed seven LPs, three 2xLPs, one 8xCD set, four cassette tapes, about a zillion t-shirts... you get the picture. It's been a BUSY year to say the least, and not everything has sold berzerker-style... but regardless, we really really want to see this TILTS album happen proper, so we're swallowing a bit of pride and opening up the Kickstarter floodgates.

Let it be known: every penny made from this Kickstarter is going directly into the production of TILTS album! In reality, it will definitely cost more than 2k to manufacture this but if we can drum up at least that much we'll be good to go!

In the (off?)chance that we make heaps more than what we're asking here, we hope to actually cover the full manufacturing costs and hopefully then compensate the band for all the time, energy and money they've already put into self-producing what we consider to be a totally balls-to-the-wall, infectious and downright AWESOME first full-length.

In order to make this a little more exciting than a typical album "pre-order", we're using Kickstarter's rewards-system to create a few more involved options, for those who may be so inclined...

If all goes according to plan and we raise (at least) $2000 for this beast, we reckon you'll have the physical creation in your hands right around March. HOPEFULLY as an early holiday-type present we can have the digital download all mastered and ready to go for ya, but you can't rush greatness folks, so we've gotta roll with the punches.

After a decade of doing this "label thing", we've learned its hard to precisely pinpoint vinyl-production turnaround times, so long story short: we'll get your package(s) to you as quickly as humanly possible while still achieving Maximum Sonic Greatness!

Keep in mind they're still unmastered at the moment, and that the whole thing will sound better once it goes through another pro's hands/ears/equipment/etc.

Last and probably least: Please share this with anyone who might care... we're really excited about this project but definitely need help getting the word out there! Kickstarter definitely seems to be about word of mouth and pledge donations, so anything you can do to help is genuinely appreciated! We're excited to see what happens!
