Update #2: First notes on the Stradivarius
On the last day of May, I got a chance to play my first notes on the 1716 Milstein Strad. I only had 45 minutes to 'play' with the violin - and my good friend Cooper Bates captured my very first attempts to make music on this unparalleled instrument, as well as my child-like glee in responding to the violin. I'm so happy to be able to share this moment with you.
I'm so thrilled that our project has reached the 50% mark with such amazing time, and I can't wait for you to hear the complete project in Disney Hall! I'm beyond grateful for all the support, but we still have a ways to go! Please tell your friends, circulate/tweet/facebook the project, and I'll post more updates as we go along!
This violin is a dream. Perfection embodied, an old soul - within it, I can feel the heartbeat of the masters - of Nathan Milstein, my hero. I still can't believe I get a chance to play on this violin, and I can only strive to create something worthy of this violin's legacy, of the incredible music I'm playing, and, above all, worthy of your support.
I can't wait for you to hear it in Disney Hall!
Very best wishes,
Robert
