Rika has come to kickstarter to present a project built around a love for music and technology, and an appreciation for the deep, rich sound that wood instruments deliver.  Rika headphones integrate the classic features of wood acoustics with modern audio technology to provide a concert hall atmosphere for your music.  

Rika was founded in Seattle, Washington with a product designed to go against the grain.

We see enough plastic headphones roaming the streets and want to bring a different look.  But, what we are really excited about is the sound created by the wood housing.  We make use of the same concepts behind the wood acoustics found in symphony instruments and concert hall wood paneling. The sound produced from these headphones is exactly what we were going for.

By engineering our headphones with a wood housing, the music is allowed to be heard as it was meant to be. Just as guitars, violins, and speaker boxes are carefully made from specific woods to create the best sound, we make use of the natural medium of wood in our passionate drive for a crisp, brilliant sound.

Developing a product and bringing it to the market is a thrilling experience as ideas and raw materials transform to a finished product. Each pair of headphones comes with an in-line mic – a click of the button will pause, play and skip music in addition to the ability to accept and end cell phone calls. Also works with Apple’s Siri by holding down the button.

All pledge prices include shipping within the United States.  International orders should add $15 for shipping.
