Update #3: Great News - The Festival has confrmed it will happen this year!
Due to the burst in support and confidence that we will be able to fund the festival this year, they have confirmed they are committed to doing it in April.
However, we still need to raise the $5,000... they are counting on it to help with expenses the week of the festival, to make sure everything falls into place.
Spread the word, we are excited we could give them the confidence to making it happen!
Update #2: Letter from Patrick Nagle (Sarasota Fringe Film Festival)
Dear 1000 who care,
The Sarasota Fringe Film Festival, "A REEL Festival for REAL People" needs your financial support to make it happen. The dates are set, April 8-11.
The location is set. The team is set, the events are planned, and the film entries are pouring in. All kinds of films, films that will appeal to you and your friends.
So please help us open our doors by sending your Support Donation of $10. You will be doing SRQ a big favor, helping us make the Fringe happen!
Thanks Again, Patrick Nagle and the Fringe Team
Update #1: More about the Fringe Film Festival
The Fringe Film Festival was recognized as one of the top ten Arts events in Sarasota last year - See here - http://bit.ly/757pIn
We need to make sure this festival happens in 2010. Its a low budget festival, that will be held in the downtown mall next to Hollywood 20... this year will includes some great films made by local filmmakers and like last year will be a community oriented festival that is great for the economy, and great for the arts.
