4 weeks til tour!
Rhinestone Gorilla's been laying relatively low this week while we book shows, update costumes, and get our pre-tour arguments out of our systems. With less than four weeks before we hit the road, we're really feeling time compress--there's so much left to do and such little time!
We have two more New York appearances before we hit the road. We'll be at Ted & Honey in Brooklyn on May 10th to celebrate the opening of their exhibit of photographs by Linus Gelber, RGB's resident photographer. Angelique and Izebel will be performing scintillating new acts to honor our awesome friend.
Then, on Saturday, May 12th we're at The Triad for our tour kick-off. After revisiting our childhoods through our memories of Animaniacs (Good Idea/Bad Idea), Disney (Bibbity Bobbity Boobs), and our tenth birthdays (Ass From the Past), Rhinestone Gorilla continues to mine the nostalgic depth with PUBLIC BRACASTING SYSTEM, a tribute to educational children's television from Arthur to ZOOM!
This show is a fundraiser in the PBS tradition, complete with an onstage telethon--so bring your cell phone and your credit card to indulge in the gimmick and pledge one last dollar to our upcoming tour. And bid us bon voyage! This is our last public appearance in New York before we leave for tour just five days later.
