About this project

About Us: We're a team of three web developers from Brooklyn who are in our 20's and really enjoy being nerdy. Corporate by daytime, StreetEats by nighttime, we spend almost all of our free time trying to figure out how to make life easier, and in this case, more delicious.

About StreetEats: StreetEats was born from a desire to know where every Mister Softee Truck in NYC was at any given moment. While we were working to find a solution to our Mister Softee dilema, (we really like ice cream) we stumbled upon a variety of other Mobile Food vendors we'd never heard of but couldn't wait to try. Two months later, we had StreetEats Version One in the iTunes App Store and reasonably full bellies.

What started as a self-serving idea (we were hungry and wanted an easy way to find the trucks) turned into a challenge of how to provide this information easily and efficiently to the thousands of people who are using our application already to support these dedicated local businesses. After a few months of testing, we're ready to start building a map-based version, we just need a kickstart to cover the next round of expenses.

Where your money will go:
1) Because the next version is more complex, we need to hire a few specialists to make sure it is works perfectly. There is nothing more frustrating than good technology working badly, especially mobile technology. We promise these specialists will be hardworking, local freelancers.

2) Once we have the new structure in place, we want to expand our hardware support to include the Android Platform. We noticed they're looking a little hungry these days and want to give them an opportunity to enjoy the deliciousness as well.

3) To some fancy (ok, not that fancy) stickers for the participating vendors to put on the exterior of their trucks. After all, it's better to eat with friends.
