About this project
My name is Charles Wheaton and I want to publish a finished version of a role-playing game that I have been working on for some time now called Resistance: Road to Liberation.
It is a table-top role-playing game (RPG) where you and your friends play resistance fighters during World War II. The current version of the game focuses solely on resistance movements in the Soviet Union. I want to expand the game to include resistance movements from all over the world.
Besides being one of only a handful of WWII RPGs (and the only one focused on the resistance movements), there are some other pretty cool things about this game.
-- While this is a tabletop role playing game, I intend to publish this in both e-book and hardcover formats. That's right, no more heavy books to lug around unless you want to.
-- There is a group leveling system. The more notorious your resistance group becomes the more resources you get from the Allies. You can become so famous that even Hitler knows and fears your name.
-- It features some rarely seen artwork of resistance fighters produced by Soviet artists immediately after the war. This artwork captures, in simple black and white, the heroic nature of all the resistance movements during WW II. I intend to use some of the money to try to find other authentic artwork from other movements around the world.
Finally, I developed a "beta" version of Resistance a couple of years ago. Everyone who played it, including some of the military guys who reviewed it, loved it but they all said it needed more options and rules that covered more of the resistance movements. I want to use the money you provide to upgrade this early version, add to the rules to incorporate their feedback and expand the rule set to include more resistance movements.
