One of my ideas!
Time is running out! :D I have lots more rewards to put up for our GRAND FINALE! It's going to be so fun! :)
I wanted to elaborate on one of my ideas if there are excess funds. I mentioned I wanted to work with publishers to get more creator owned books out there, here is my idea for that;
Basically I'll be working with publishers to create a CHANCE label. For instance if IDW were interested, the label would be "IDWchance" or if DC were interested it'd be "DCchance". These are books that we and the companies hand pick, I pay for creation & printing, they are printed under that label, and upon seeing the sales of that issue the publisher can either then pick it up from there, or if not then the creative teams at least have an AWESOME book by a big publisher to help further their careers from there! Profits from that one issue would go back into the process to hopefully continue doing this for as long as possible.
This whole idea is centered on getting more creator owned books out there ( or maybe people that want to try their hand at already established characters!), giving creators chances to show the publishers what they've got. And of course it would be entirely equal between male & female creators! When you are someone with an idea that wants to create a comic, you are faced with either self publishing, which is incredibly expensive and tough to handle, or have the hope of a publisher picking the title up. However most publishers can't afford to do that often, so I feel this is a way to bridge that gap! Even just for a few people, it would mean a lot.
Of course it's not for sure, but I've asked around a little with publishers and was met with open minds, so I am optimistic this can work. If we get to $100,000 I think I can do a few of these books. If I can get to $200,000 I can do a LOT of these books for all publishers who want to join in the fun. But I'm happy if I can help fund just one creator's book to be made! And I'm sure everyone would help me pick who would get that chance? ;) There are a ton of women on Womathology alone that could use these opportunities!
Just wanted to let everyone know the kind of things I had in mind :) I am so very thankful for everything you've done, and thank you for giving the ladies on Womanthology so much well deserved attention and support! This is really going to be fun! :)

As someone who has recently made the decision BECAUSE of this Kickstarter Project to get into writing, I'm thrilled with the idea of helping people get into the industry. I never thought I wanted to write comics. I never thought I was very good at writing to be honest. I tried creative writing in college and got negative feedback and lukewarm responses from faculty and fellow students and I realized how insanely difficult it is to write and since I only took the classes for fun, I decided writing was NOT something I ever wanted to do. I wanted to be an editor and that's where I wanted to go. But I decided to start writing recently and shortly after I'd finished writing my first comic book script, it became available to have Gail Simone actually READ IT. I jumped on the opportunity (Gail is one of my top favorite writers and after meeting her and various others in the industry, I've been inspired), so now I've finished writing 2 whole scripts. I am hoping one to find an artist that would like to work for me as a hobby/potential future earning situation since I'm broke and struggling to find a job that'll pay me enough to live on let alone anything else..Anyhow, I'm THRILLED about this Kickstarter, I hope to see a Chance label at some point, I'm DYING to read the Project Chance comic now and I hope maybe one day to be a published comic book writer (failing that, at least make enough money to survive lol).
Anyhow, thank you guys for being an inspiration. Thank you every last person who donated money, time, products, experience, sage advice, and whatever else you donated. This kickstarter IS an inspiration and I hope that many people break into the business because of it.

As a struggling would-be comic book writer, I'm in LOVE with this idea! This would be a great way for new voices to get heard.
I think it's be especially cool if we could vote as a community in comments or something like that for the scripts we like the most and want to see get made (maybe with an initial weeding out process done by yourself and the other comics professionals? I don't know but it's sure fun to think about!).
I know I've said it before but you guys ROCK for doing this. Ideas like this to make sure new voices get heard is just what the comics community needs! Even if we don't hit 100K, I'd be happy to donate whatever I can to make these ideas into reality! I just wish I could afford to give you guys more.
