About this project
RBC NYC is a coffee shop in Tribeca known for its extensive list of roasters, Slayer espresso machine and passionate staff of coffee nerds. This August, four of our core staff are creating a web series of educational videos that will serve to spread awareness about the diversity of artisan roasters. Our goal is to raise $3000 to produce a 5 episode web series focusing on specialty coffee culture on the west coast. Over a seven day period, we will film the most progressive roasters and coffee shops in the nation in order to show you exactly where your everyday cup of joe begins.
THE PLAN
August 22nd, 2011 we will land in LAX and begin our journey though L.A., San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. By interviewing roasters, touring roasting facilities and talking to baristas all over the west coast, we hope to enlighten viewers on all the nuances that go in to making a wonderful cup of coffee.
Handsome, Ritual, Klatch, Verve, Coava, Heart and 49th Parallel are just a few of the companies we are going to share with you. Backers will be updated daily from the road with photos and stories from our adventures, giving you a sneak peak at what's in store for the web series.
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR
Our goal of $3000 will fund the equipment rental, production, filming and editing of this web series. Our production team will lead by the cinematographer, Robert Carnevale. He will shoot the project digitally in an effort to reduce costs and speed up production, while bringing you a visually beautiful and interesting series that will engage audiences around the globe. All baristas working on this film will be donating their time and talent to bring this story to life.
