THE EURASIAN INVASION!
RATS in Repertory
In the early months of 2011, new members of the current ensemble came forward to gather behind our inspired and visionary director, Aleksey Burago (lower right photograph above). We took on his dream of becoming a true ensemble, of setting up a school, and of obtaining a theater to call our own. Our first step was to revamp and modernize the company outlook to better reach contemporary audiences. This has been achieved by our strong presence online and from a restructuring within.
Now, the RATS Company needs your help to put up the most intricate theatre marathon we have ever done to date. In the Spring of 2012, we will bring to life several productions under the creative efforts of Russian Director Aleksey Burago.
In addition to "Wonder Bread", the award-winning one woman show with Danusia Trevino, there will be 5 shows running across a 4-week festival, featuring a cast of players trained by Mr. Burago.
The shows we will be producing in our Spring season's festival are:
Billy Bob Boils the Sea (a new take on the Chinese classic 'Chang Boils the Sea'), adapted by company member Di Zhu.
- Anton Chekhov's The Seagull,
Diary of a Madman, by Nikolai Gogol,
- Shows based on the short stories of Roald Dahl (adapted by Di Zhu and Fred Pezzulli), and those of Anton Chekhov,
