After eight years of efforts, Radio Boise is moving to 89.9 FM this April! We'll be serving the biggest area in the entire country without independent, noncommercial, community-programmed radio!

We've operated our internet broadcast from a tiny donated office space for five years and now our humble little volunteer-based organization will be playing with the big boys and girls as we broadcast 8,000 watts to an area of 500,000 people!

Accordingly, we'll need a new home. A friendly studio that allows us to carry out our programming mission: to create compelling, place-based radio, hosted by people that live and work and play right here in southern Idaho.

Most of our broadcast equipment has already been paid for thanks to small donors, local grants and federal funds. We're SO close! Now, it's time to build the studio....

The good news is that every Kickstarter dollar you give will be leveraged by 4 or 5 dollars in labor and materials already donated by generous local businesses and organizations that want to support our station, just like you. We've just started renovating a 1250 sq. ft. basement space with the help of these community-minded tradespeople - but we will still have hard costs for this rehab that unfortunately can't be avoided - doors, windows, wiring, permits, fire sprinklers, etc. Not as sexy as broadcast consoles, but without a way to take care of these items, the project would surely be at risk.
