Queuethulu Games LLC in Minneapolis MN, is looking for funding to finish their first title, Risque. Support local game designers!
Queuethulu Games started as a result of Josh Flaherty losing his mind playing the same game over and over again. Everyone talking about how original their game was, Josh decided that it was time for him to step into the ring. He asked his friend Nick Saeko to join him and Queuethulu Games was born. Both we're raised on classic games from the 80's and 90's and respect such industry figures as Goichi Suda (Suda51), Ken Levine, and Tim Schafer.
Both men pull from their demented imaginations and have come up with some unique characters, ideas and concepts. Over the years they both have their favorite games, Josh has games like Zombies ate my Neighbors, Phantasy Star 3 & 4 and Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday and Castlevania: Bloodlines as some of his favorites, while Nick has games like Shining Force, Super Metroid, Terranigma, Contra: The Alien Wars and Sunset Riders. Their unique views on game design allowed them to look at things slightly differently than their peers.
Risque is our stylized Japanese style RPG. turn based, classic Role playing with our demented sense of humor and art style. No brooding heroes, no underlying rhetoric, just a solid story with unique characters that combat the typical RPG standards. A romp through a sci-fi world with 4 characters that are as primitive as they are complex, we hope to shake off some of the cobwebs that single player RPG's have been gaining due to similar plots and character archetypes. This is not a modern day RPG, this is classic 90's storytelling, with the dark humor of a black comedy. This game will have alcohol use, vulgar language, strong sexual implications and a writing style that you haven't seen before.
I'd venture to say Mature. Mostly due to vulgar language, and implications of sex, we never show it, but we don't do the old "kiss and pan off screen" either.
We need at LEAST another artist and coder. The funds we asked for are based on what they requested for monthly salary, based on how long we would have to work on it before we must do testing. Also to buy wonderful things like office supplies. Nick keeps making pixel art out of the post-its.
...I'm kidding about the pixels.
The main character is openly gay and we're not changing it. This is a mature game and the content should be mature. RPGs have a history of being edited in localization. Ustvestia in Phantasy Star 2 (he teaches you Musik which you use in one of the dams I think...) was openly gay in Japan stating that the men "looked cute" and gave a discount to train them. Is that a big deal? I don't think so... and he's not even a major part. If life reflects art and art reflects life... why is having more real characters a bad thing?
No. There are far too many and we really don't want to try to recreate the crowning moment of awesome that was Timespitters 2.
(fun bonus fact, when I said that I was asked "What's Timesplitters? Is that like Modern Warfare 2? ...kids these days I tell ya, ha ha)
Why not? Didn't Irrational Games do some thing for Bioshock Infinite with a top hat and put a bunch of people in the game? ...I think I read that on twitter.
Well I'd normally say our website: http://www.queuethulugames.com however, since we're understaffed I havent even finished it. We also have a blog: http://queuethulu.blogspot.com/ ...also severely under construction. I have a twitter: https://twitter.com/#%21/SWTZMBEJESUS (Yes that's Sweet Zombie Jesus) Tweets are short and I tend to rant. However I can do them from my cell.
I'm not joking, I got this email. I'm actually at a loss for a sarcastic comment.

What makes me sick about old school RPG's is that nobody has names. "Hey hero go find (Guy's name here)" turns out he's someone you talked to 40 times before and never knew. Donate a buck and you become a named NPC. Yeah... I'm naming everyone.Estimated delivery:

This is the "Go Big or Go Home" level. We'll write a Player Character in the Sequel for you, Josh will tattoo Hello Kitty on his left forearm (where everyone can see it) and you'll get executive producer credits on both games. (I was going to say Hello Kitty tattoo on my butt my I'm not in great shape like Ryan Reynolds was in Blade: Trinity.)Estimated delivery:
