Again our apologies to everyone for the delay between updates. We issued a new one yesterday, along with a newsletter from our website which is meant to become the ongoing mechanism. Regards the Pyramids specifically we have also contacted all backers expecting delivery in April, please let us know if anyone was somehow not included. Cheers!

The app "i-Ufo" in the apple appstore can also control the Puzzlebox Orbit (actually the "iUFO" seems to have the same hardware base - so also for spareparts iUFO parts should work).

    8. Missing_small

Precisely why I will NEVER own a apple product. Tyrannical puritans are not my idea of who I want to buy anything from.

I see that NeuroSky has various IOS apps posted on tbe store, perhaps you can work with them and get your app posted, they "seem" to have the proper development license?

    10. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Jim Kleinmeyer on January 10

I am also am not a ios programmer and would like to see the app in the App Store. Any progress on this?
The comment below with respect to your development license seems to indicate that you either expect us to build it from the source or jailbreak our devices. This is not something I wish to do on a new device.
      thank you

are you guys still submitting an app to apple? I'm not a programmer and would like to use the Orbit as described, thanks

Hi Alvin, thanks for writing. We have established our warehouse facility in China. We expect to receive headsets and helicopters for international orders by the end of the first week of January, with shipping to commence to final destinations shortly after.

      Cheers

Hi, what's your plan of shipping for the International wave?

    15. Ic_launcher-web-white_box.small

      Creator Puzzlebox on December 25

      Adam-

There is an app in both the Goole Play store as well as the Apple App Store called "i-Helicopter" which is capable of manually flying the Puzzlebox Orbit:

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details…

You need to select the helicopter located at the bottom-left of the screen. It seems to speak the same IR protocol.

      Cheers

      Steve

    16. Missing_small

Creator Adam Miller on December 24

Is there an app that lets you manually control the helicopter if you have the mobile adapter already?

      Anthony V-

We cannot issue the iOS package prepared for the App Store as a general release. We only receive 5 device licenses as an Apple Developer, which get tied to individual UUIDs. However we do expect to have a package suitable for jailbroken devices available in the next 2 or 3 days. This will happen in coordination with releasing the source code for Android and iOS.

      Cheers

      Steve

SuM- For those who received a survey, the purpose of the question about Android, iOS, and source code was to determine which of our backers who are using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch understand that our software must be approved by Apple before they can install it. While we tried to be quite clear the iOS software will be finished before December 25th, Apple's review process is not under our control. If our program has not yet appeared in the App Store we don't want backers who give or receive a Puzzlebox Orbit as a gift to be disappointed! We are using the responses received to reach out and follow-up with each backer who could be affected (just as a precaution).

To answer your question, all backers will have free access to the Android and iOS versions of our software, as well as the source code.

Your intended use with your student sounds excellent! Please let us know however we can help. Cheers

Shannon- That's an interesting question! Here' a quick suggestion. Print out a photo of the Puzzlebox Orbit along with your "surprise" note. Place it inside a very light-weight box along with a large helium balloon. Wrap the box with only simple ribbon and let the gift box float in the air when you present it. Alternatively you could use something like Blu-Tack to attach the box to the ceiling. Good luck!

      Dear Puzzlebox People,
Your survey does not provide for a BOTH on the Android/ios question or an ALL THREE to include code.
I have a student with MS who needs to learn from this device- (everything from how to use will power to direct her mind to the understanding that the world does not have to be off-limits just because you can't walk or move). I need to know more in order to make the right decision as I set this up for her. Your advice and direction would be appreciated. As we break on the 21st, I can't give this to her until sometime in January so- no hurry!

Hi Kenok, I'm sorry for the confusion. The $89 pledge includes the Puzzlebox Orbit helicopter, as well as the infrared dongle which connects to the a mobile phone or tablet. The only thing which is not included is the MindWave Mobile EEG headset from NeuroSky EEG. We tried to be very clear about this, as the entry states "The EEG hardware is not included." The package does include more than software however. Cheers.

Thanks Evaristo and Adrian, stretch goals are a fair question. To be honest we never expected to achieve this level of funding! In any case we intend to invest everything received back into the project, especially regards the open source software and educational materials we are producing. Since we are publishing all of this freely our entire community will benefit equally.

Unfortunately it is too late for us to order and receive additional hardware from our supplier in China and still include them in December shipments for our earliest backers. Everything is already on its way!
