WHAT IS OUR PROJECT

Armed with the passion of Executive Producer Jennica Schwartzman, the truly visionary eye of Marc Hampson of ARTbyMARC, the real struggles of writer Ryan Schwartzman, and the technical brilliance of cinematographer Paul Olson, Gordon Family Tree is poised to take its place with the Family Focused classics of the last ten years. Gordon Family Tree The Movie, LLC welcomes donors who believe in this project, the filmmakers, and its ability to generate a stellar product for all of us to enjoy, AND anyone who just wants to be a part of making movies!

WHO’S MAKING THE FILM

Director: Marc Hampson:

Marc's sharp eye for storytelling is rooted in years of visual communications having worked as an Illustrator, Editor, and Art Director in both the arts and advertising industries. He graduated from the New York Film Academy’s digital filmmaking program in Studio City, CA and also holds a degree in Animation and Multimedia. His thesis film; Torrey Pines: Deliverance, won the Seahorse award at the Moondance International Film Festival in the best short animated film category. In January 2008 Marc wrote and directed his first feature film under the flag of Slope Entertainment - a small entertainment company based in Los Angeles. In June of 2008, Marc co-founded Brotherhood Pictures LLC, a production company founded in Orange County, CA. Having an absolute zero budget, Marc’s second film project, Goon, was filmed all over southern and central California with an all volunteer cast and crew as the first release under the Brotherhood Pictures LLC title distributed as an online webseries. The third film Hiding in the Open was again both penned and directed by Marc and with a seasoned experienced no budget crew at hand, they brought the fully realized film to completion in just 13 days of photography with only six weeks in post. Since then Marc has directed short films, music videos, commercials and two other features (both in post-Production) one of which will be premiering later this year. Having recently won an "Outstanding Achievement in Directing” Award at The Offshoot Film Fest for both live action and animated works, Both Marc Hampson & Purpose Pictures have a very fond relationship with the Seedling film Association and The Arkansas Film Commission. Marc has a longstanding relationship with his Brother-in-Law and Actor/Writer Ryan Schwartzman and is excited to work on this Passion project that we all share in beautiful Northwest Arkansas.

Writer: Ryan Schwartzman:

Ryan has worked as an actor & writer on projects for over 10 years. His expertise in every day life and the struggles of the ‘coming-of-age young man’ is reflected in his acting and very obviously in his writing. He crafts a down to Earth main character in Gordon Family Tree that you love, starting on the first page. His skills are most realized in his supporting characters and their original quirks that make them mesmerizing. He really makes a beautiful story that brings you on a vintage Road-Trip of self-discovery that awakens the adventurous spirit in all of us.

Production Company: Purpose Pictures

Purpose Pictures has Produced 2 full features and 7 award winning shorts since their beginning 5 years ago. They are a hard working group of 3 that focuses on getting projects made and in festivals all in the name of making beautiful art and really having fun doing what they love. 

Purpose Pictures will be Producing the Film, hiring the Production Staff/Crew, and taking the film to Market.

WHY WE’RE DOING IT/THE IMPACT

Purpose Pictures strongly believes that the number one teaching tool that moves hearts is film. It encompasses a harmony of music, illustrations of art - nature, human interaction, and basic truths that mirror reality and move people, inspire them, and change their lives. Real stories about real people, Universal truths, and love, need to be made by real people who believe in using film for good. Purpose Pictures prides itself on Promoting family centered stories that are building awareness of social issues or presenting a discussion of philosophy. We are being intentionally aware of what we put out as artists and ask that you financially support those who are like-minded and seek to spread uplifting messages.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL????!!!!!

If we don't raise our goal, we don't get anything.  Donors pledge the amounts, but don't actually pay until the goal is reached and the funding deadline has passed.  We want to avoid this so please spread the word.  Everything helps, no matter how BIG or small! 

HOW YOU CAN HELP

This film is only going to be possible with the help of YOU (and YOUR Friends, Family, Colleagues, Community Groups, independent film fans, and anyone who loves a positive, inspiring story).  We want this to be YOUR film just as much as it is ours. FAQs

WHEN IS THE PREMIERE? WHEN AM I GONNA GET MY DVD? OR MY T-SHIRT?

All materials that can be made before post–production is finished (ex: T-Shirts, Hats, Digital or Physical Posters…) Will be sent out within 4 weeks of wrapping Principal Photography (that means we are done shooting the film). Any other materials are dependent upon finishing the film and may be sent out as late as Oct 2014. Any other materials or Premiere Tickets or DVD related items will be determined after the post-production on the film is finished and will be sent out to you as soon as is available. I will likely be personally emailing you updates on the progress as to keep you in the loop as the time gets closer. Remember: the more money we raise, the faster those items will get to you.

CAN I GIFT AN INCENTIVE TO SOMEONE ELSE?


 YES! Spectacular idea. If you would like to donate to the film but give the reward to someone as a gift, go through all the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided) We will request things like your t-shirt size and address from you at that time. Please reply with all the person’s information that is to receive the reward. We will make sure they are the person who receives the reward.

WHAT DOES DIGITAL DOWNLOADS MEAN IN THE HELLO PACKAGE?

 Everyone who donates at least $10 will receive our digital download package. We are still adding to this package, but here is what we have confirmed so far. This will include the following:

• All posters, banners, and desktop wallpaper used in our Gordon Family Tree  Campaign
 
• Official Gordon Family Tree the movie promotional material 
• Posters, wallpapers, etc.


WHAT ARE YOU USING THE MONEY FOR?

Lets break it down: any amount of money we receive will be used to pay for cast and crew, locations and equipment hire. The more money we have, the better and faster our production will go, and the better our chances are of paying our Amazing Volunteers!

CAN DONORS INCREASE PLEDGES ONCE A DONATION HAS BEEN MADE?

Absolutely! If you have already donated, and are signed in to your account, then instead of a green “Back This Project” button on our page, there should be a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click that, and you can enter a new amount or choose a new incentive!

HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHERE TO SEND MY INCENTIVES OR WHAT T-SHIRT SIZE I WEAR?

After our deadline, we will send you a Kickstarter message (which automatically forwards to the email address you gave Kickstarter) requesting all the necessary information, from shipping and email address, to t-shirt size, to Pizza delivery scheduling.
