About this project
The Low End Theory is a continuing series of portraiture by an upcoming visual artist, PS. This project, with the support of Kickstarter, will produce her first exhibition, The Low End Theory: The Art of Seeing Sounds, featuring the series of works that define The Low End Theory, named after the iconic, classic hip hop album by A Tribe Called Quest.
== ABOUT THIS PROJECT ==
The Low End Theory - the idea that we define who we are: our legacy is determined by our influence in common circles and its rippling effects on the world. It is our unconventional methods that create a unique and lasting impact on humanity. The Low End Theory defines the future, of yesterday, of today, and tomorrow; not only the current rise of self-dependency, but the youth of heart, who have and forever keep the culture alive. The Low End Theory unifies the "outsiders" and the "underground" by blending progressive realism with street culture, in an effort to create a bond between portraiture and hip-hop in the same manner as grafitti art in hip hop's pubescent stages. This theory seeks to manifest a visual element to the aural and instrumental arts, and those enamored of hip hop culture.
This series aims to identify purpose in its subjects persona across genres, styles and periods. Specifically, it will distill and analyze the fundamental aspect, the core of its subjects -- emotion, status, structure, form, purpose, passion, etc. -- in one still capture of the individual. The series will highlight individuals directly influential to the artist -- individuals who have made their own paths and held true to their respective forms. Broadly, The Low End Theory embodies the preservation of the very essence of its subjects. Works created will be birthed solely from the influence the subjects have had directly on the artist's life.
The Low End Theory: The Art of Seeing Sounds will highlight individuals in film, music, art, and more within and/or influenced by urban and hip hop culture, not only on paper but as well as performances as well. The event is set to take place in DC in the month of June and will feature both unforgettable art and live music.

FAQ
-
This Kickstarter was for a very specific purpose, and that was to fund the cost of art supplies and the other necessities of creating a complete project and show. Anything over, all goes to the same purpose.
Mainly, it will be for 'just in case', say I didn't estimate the correct number of pencils, or the amount of paper. If something breaks, or tears, or an unexpected cost, the extra monies will go towards handling those situations. Consider it like rainy day money. It's there for ONLY the necessities, the needs, not the wants.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.

Probably the dopest girl on the planet. Right? Yep. As long as you know. Working in fine art as a visual artist and graphically as a designer and illustrator, PS is known for and seeks to blend the fine line between what is inspiring and what it inspires: Putting a face to a voice, and a voice to the soul. A short-lived art school attendee and small town Virginia resident, PS has continuously pushed to do things on her own terms by any means necessary. Currently in a small Virginia town, she is the pencil behind legendary hip-hop producer and college professor, 9th Wonder's highly anticipated The Wonder Years album, as well as Wale's recent #1 album 'Ambition'. 'The Low End Theory' acts as her first exhibition, and represents her love for emotion, the soul, and hip hop.
