Q: Woah... Where am I? Who are you? WHAT'S GOING ON!?!?
Oh, hi! We're Prom Date, an indie pop quintet from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. You're probably here because you've seen us live, a friend told you about us, or because you're surfing the interweb! We just finished recording our new EP, "Clock Out". We're teaming up with Kickstarter so our fans can help us press our CDs by pre-ordering the EP!

Q: Eh, what? Kickstarter? What's that?
Kickstarter is a site devoted to helping fund creative projects. Artists set fundraising goals for projects and a date to raise the funds by. Supporters pledge money, and if the goal is reached by the deadline, the artist gets the money.

Q: What's Prom Date's goal?
We're trying to raise $2000 for the physical production of our CD. We've recorded it and are currently tweaking it to get the perfect sound. We're also working on album art and many other little details, but we don't have the money to get it pressed just yet. We're really excited about how things are turning out, and we're hoping for your help to get our EP released soon.

Q: What if you don't reach your goal?
If the goal isn't reached, the artist gets no money. In our case, if we don't raise $2000 by the end of July, we get no money. That's right– it's all or nothing. If we don't make our goal, your credit card doesn't get charged.

Q: And if you do?
Your pledge will be processed at the beginning of August. In that sense, it doesn't matter when you pledge money, as your account will be charged after time is up.

Q: So this is just some elaborate way to beg people for money? I work hard for my money, why should I donate?
We're an up-and-coming band trying to expand, and we'd really appreciate your support. We're all busy with other jobs and some of us with school, but we put our hearts into this. Art flourishes because people give it the means to do so; we'd be honored if you chose to help us on our way. With your help we can release this CD as soon as possible and continue our plot to conquer the world.

Q: Incentives? Keep talking.
Yes. With a pledge of $15 or more, you get a copy of the EP you're supporting as well as a digital download a week before the release. $20 gets you a copy of our soon-to-be extinct demo in addition to that, and $50 adds a poster to the mix. Q: Ok, ok, where do I sign up?

Just remember, we receive none of the pledged funds if we don't make our goal of $2000 by the end of the project! For each level of pledges we provided different rewards for Prom Date fans.

We've been working very hard for the past year to make this CD release possible, and we thank everyone for supporting Prom Date up until now! "Clock Out" will be released on Phantom Party Records, a collective independent music label based in Baton Rouge, LA!
