Stretch Goals, NYCC, Subtitles, Twitter, and More!
Hello everyone,
First off, we would like extend our sincere gratitude to the backers of Kick-heart. We are nearly 60% funded with 18 days left to go. We still have a ways to go, so please help us keep our momentum!
Updated Stretch Goals
We are happy to announce some changes to our current stretch goals. In support of the project, and because so many backers have supported us, Yuasa-san and Production I.G have decided that if we can reach 400k, then they will extend the current film an additional 30 minutes. Bringing Kick-heart to a total of 40 minutes of animation! If we are unable to reach 400k, then any additional funds over our goal of $150,000 would be put it directly back into the film.
- 400k = + 30 minutes of extended animation (total of 40 minutes)
- 1 Million = Kick-heart Feature Film
New York Comic Convention / ANN Panel
For those of you in the New York Area, Justin Leach, the Producer of Kick-heart will be attending the Anime News Network NYCC panel today at 5:15pm in room 1A23. Justin will be showing never-before-seen artwork from the short film and discuss the project. If you are nearby, please stop by and visit. We would like to give a special thanks to Christopher Macdonald, Justin Sevakis, and Zac Bertschy from ANN for helping to arrange this.
French Subtitles
Many of the backers have asked about having French subtitles included on the Blu-ray disk. After some discussion internally, we have decided to add French subtitles to our Blu-ray release. If there are other people who would be interested in volunteering to translate our film into other languages for the digital download, please send us a message via Kickstarter.

Really hope this blows past the target. Been a big fan of Prodcution I.G for a long time. Hope to see more anime projects from Production I.G funded through kickstarter. And also, DRM free digital downloads are awesome, I would happily buy most of my anime as digital downloads (DRM free). Good luck guys. :)

Wow! Didn't know you guys were doing so good on KickTraq... actually, I didn't even know about Kicktraq until just now. Still, just behind Project Eternity - that's impressive! You'll probably get your funding right at the last minute, like some other notable projects (Republique, for example); but here's hoping you get it sooner rather than later. Of course, this is a weird-looking project, so I'm sure some people are a little hesitant to pledge at first glance. They'll come around!
