Prairie Works Art, located in the rural Kansas town of Pretty Prairie, population 600. Our school system has had to cut our art programs in all of our levels of education. Our community is 25 miles away from the nearest town with art opportunities.
Prairie Works Art is providing opportunities for art in Reno County Kansas and our community. Our first project : Nuno Felting.
Nuno Felting is a spin on an ancient art of felting. With a 2 hour class time and very few supplies....a silk chiffon scarve that has been hand dyed, small amounts of wool roving...also hand dyed, liquid soap and hot water, bubble wrap and a little elbow grease....each student will leave with a beautiful piece of wearable art.
This class works best with students ages 8 and up. However, I have some smaller ideas for any younger kids who come to participate. It is my goal to help everyone of every age enjoy art.
