THE CHICHARONES - Hi Hey Hello!
The Chicharones have toured all over the world, solo and with live bands, perfecting their sound of Underground Pop. With over a decade spent in airplanes and in crowded tour vans, they have been fighting all odds to make something of themselves for the people they left behind.
At SXSW 2012 in Austin, TX, The Chichis lived up to the name of “Best bar band in America” (Spin Magazine). They brought a full live band, magic, dance moves and the amazing interplay of multi-part harmonies, killer chemistry and razor sharp back and forth raps. As a result, the Chicharones were asked to play the entire 2012 Vans Warped Tour headlining the Bring it Back Stage. 43 shows in 50 days!!
Dreams do not come cheap.This is the biggest production we've ever undertaken. We're bringing the full band. We're not getting paid to be on this tour. We're doing this for THE LOVE and because we believe in this project. We are pooling all resources to bring this show to everyone. We even sold our DJ's kidneys and we don't regret a thing. Swine Flew is the culmination of years of musical experimentation, uniting the content driven storytelling raps of the Boss Hogs EP, the epic joy and sorrow of When Pigs Fly, with the Surf-Rock musicality of Swine Country, to create an album for all seasons. The Chicharones are looking to infect the whole world with their particular brand of greasy hip-hop magic. While laying themselves bare, they take their lyrical content and musicality to new heights. With influences from the Beach Boys to the Beastie Boys, the Beatles to the Beatnuts, The Chicharones have created a musical masterpiece that speaks to all generations. This is musically mature music that engages the emotions, showcases the growth of the songwriters, but doesn’t stray too far from the unique joie-de-vive the Chicharones have always brought you. This is the music for the adult you’ve become, and the kid that lives in your heart.
