"WHOA."
Scott and I will be putting together a formal thank you and what you can expect from us from the future as far as updates, shipping, etc. go, but I just wanted to chime in and say a HUGE thank you to all of you. We feel truly blown away by how all our fans really pulled through for us and we're so excited to reward you for all YOUR hard work. There's so much going on with Johnny Recon right now, we're in comic nirvana.
Again, more info soon, but for now...
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
You guys rock my socks.

Hi Everyone!
Mitch and I have been talking the last few days, and we are both so excited about the success of the project (reaching an amount way beyond either of our expectations) that we've decided to offer one lucky backer a page of original art from the second issue (currently listed as a $100 pledge reward for our project)!
After the time on our Kickstarter project has run out, we will pull a name out of a very cool space helmet (you didn't think I was going to say hat, did you), and that person will receive a page of original art along with their other rewards! The very, very cool thing about this opportunity is that, whether or not you've pledged up until this point, all backers will be entered into the drawing! Our small way of saying thanks to all of you for making our dreams come true!
Cheers,
Scott
...Like Donkey Kong!

Mornin' Kickstarters!
First, I just wanted to share my contribution to THIS week's Comic TWART blog http://www.comictwart.blogspot.com
Francesco Francavilla's BLACK BEETLE!
Secondly, but still related, you may have noticed some "totally wicked awesome" news at the end of our recent Kickstarter interview: http://blog.kickstarter.com/post/396806845/progress-report-johnny-recon
That's right, starting Monday, Feb 22nd, JOHNNY RECON will be the featured character of the week over at the Comic TWART blog! Scott and I haven't been this excited since we got the news that we reached our goal here on Kickstarter. This is going to be a HUGE and ridiculously fun time. I've seen the analytics on how many hits we get over at the blog and it's insane. In all probability, it will be the biggest media push we've ever had.
To see this character that Scott and I created on a whim, two years ago, illustrated by what I view as some of the top talent in the industry from Marvel, DC Comics, Image, Dynamite, BOOM, and plenty of others, is without a doubt a dream moment. If you've been to the blog, you've seen the powerhouse illustrations these guys put together.
So stay tuned to the blog next week and, if you can, spread the word as much as you can. It's our last big HURRAH to continue funding for Johnny Recon!
!!!!!!!!

Hiya Recon Rangers!
One of those exciting news-bits I was talking about before just dropped today!
Scott and I did a interview for the Kickstarter blog! We talk about how excited we are, our crazy fresh dance moves, and give some advice on marketing!
Go check it out and spread it around!

Oh, and the last part of the interview reveals what the second HUGE news announcement is!

Howdy Kickstarters!
Happy Valentines Day from POPGUNPULP Comics! Unless Valentine's Day is not your thing, then I hope a flying saucer lands on whoever slighted you!
Just wanted to write a quick update. Apparently there was a snafu at the Post Office and people who ordered recent copies of issue No.01 through our Paypal store have not received their orders. I will be sending out replacement issues tomorrow afternoon! For those of you who have just added $5.00 to your pledge for a copy of issue No.01: Don't worry. Your copies of No.01 will be included in your reward package.
Also, we have TWO really big announcements happening before the end of our Kickstarter campaign that have us beyond words with excitement. So stay tuned! Both of them should be announced VERY SOON!

Hiya Kickstarters!
It's been far too long since I've given you guys an update! Well at least I have good reason. I've been pencilling JOHNNY RECON No.02 like a madman!
I couldn't be happier with how it's going either. I'm really hitting my illustrative stride on these pages and I can't wait for Scott and I to have this book in our hands and be immensely proud of it.
Because you guys are THE BEST Popgunpulp fans on this planet, I want to share some of the progress with you! I won't be sharing every page because I don't want to give too much away, but i'll definitely be sharing a good number of pencilled pages with you fine folks as we go.
This is page #2 from Issue 2. Free for all to see, a gateway drug! All the other pencilled pages will be backer exclusive, so if you're just window shopping right now, GET IN ON THE ACTION! Make a pledge and you'll get in on all the great behind the scenes action and get some really fun rewards for your contribution including your pre-ordered EXCLUSIVE Cover copy of the book!
I hope you guys enjoy what we have to show you!
M!TCH
PS. We've gotten a lot of online orders for Johnny Recon #1 lately. I've also been very slow at getting those in the mail. I apologize immensely for that. I will get those out tomorrow morning. If anyone else wishes to order a copy of issue 1 and they feel they can wait to get it, you can save yourself some shipping costs and just add $5.00 to your pledge here on KICKSTARTER and we'll include it in your reward package when we mail them out! Easy Peezey Breezy! THANKS!
Hi Kickstarters! Just wanted to share my contribution to the second week of the COMIC TWART blog I spoke of earlier. This week's character is Cliff Secord, THE ROCKETEER!
I'm currently still chipping away at the pencils for JOHNNY RECON No. 02 and I can't wait to share them with you guys, it's some of my best work. It helps when your script is this much fun.

More info on the COMIC TWART Blog can be found at http://www.comictwart.blogspot.com
A few days ago, you people (Yeah! YOU people!) made two independent artists pretty much the happiest two people on the planet (maybe even OTHER planets)!
Not only did we reach our pledge goal, but we filled out our highest reward (Exciting!) and we were KICKSTARTER's Project of the Day (it just so happened it fell on a weekend with a holiday, so we were Project of the Day for like 3 days)!
We really can't thank you guys enough, so we went to one of our neighborhood shops and shot this little thank-you video for you guys. These are not actors (which becomes pretty obvious, you could make a drinking game out of how many times I look off-camera in these videos)!
We still have a lot of time left for this project here on Kickstarter and any extra funds we get we will use towards attending more conventions and the publication of issue #3! So please keep spreading the word, because you know we will be!
Again, thank you guys, you're the bee's knees!

TWART (Twitter + Art)
Over the last year I've made a lot of great friends and a LOT of really good illustration and comic connections via Twitter. Recently a group of 15 or so of these great comics professionals and I started picking characters for us to sketch on the same days. Thor Thursdays etc. Well a couple days ago, Chris Samnee (DC's The Mighty, Marvel's SIEGE: Embedded, etc.) took the bull by the horns and we've now officially amassed and started a weekly blog based off this concept!
The idea is that each week we'd rotate and pick a new character. Then you have five days to post your illustration to the blog. We unofficially started with RONIN (Clint Barton, Marvel) but now officially we've started the blog with Mitch Breitweiser's (Captain America, The Futurists, Marvel sequential artist) pick of Zorro!
Since we started posting last week we've gotten a lot of great internet press ( http://ow.ly/YjRW ) and I couldn't be more excited to be lumped in with this great group of artists. I've had an amazing last couple weeks, both in my career and personal life (I mean HELLO, we reached our goal and became Project of the Day here on Kickstarter!). To be included with these guys is just unreal.
So I urge you all to keep checking out our work over at the new blog...

As for the humongous news about reaching our goal and the future of JOHNNY RECON here on Kickstarter, I just finished editing a Thank You video we put together last night and I'll post that first thing in the morning. Thank you all!
M!TCH
Hi Everyone!
Eight words to start off with: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! When Mitch and I started seriously talking about creating a comic together about three years ago, neither of us could have, in our wildest dreams, thought we would be where are now: working on a second issue in the series and knowing that there’s so many people out there that believe in us and believe there’s really something special here.
All of your kind words and support have fueled a creative fire in the two of us that just doesn’t seem possible to extinguish. To not only meet our goal but also exceed it is beyond comprehension, and the two of us have been in a surrealistic daze the past 48 hours. It’s thanks to all of you.
We have received a couple questions concerning the allocation of money beyond our pledge goal. Please know that, if you continue to support us, all money will be used to help us bring Johnny Recon to the masses, whether through funding convention costs for the second issue or covering the production and printing of subsequent issues.
We will be posting a video shortly so we can virtually show all of you our appreciation in-person. Thank you, again, from the bottom of our hearts, for sharing our dream.
All the best,
Scott
Hiya Kickstarters!
Thought i'd share two recent JOHNNY RECON No.01 Sketchbook Covers that I did. The No.01 sketchbooks are no longer available, BUT you'll notice in the $50 and higher Pledge Rewards that you'll get a JOHNNY RECON No.02 Sketchbook.
These sketchbooks contain color cardstock covers that will feature an original Johnny Recon character sketch for each and every one. The inside is full of B&W concept art, finished pencils, inks, etc. from the production of issue No.02. These sketchbooks are also Kickstarter exclusive, we'll only be printing enough for those who qualify for one from their Kickstarter pledge.
I hope you enjoy these peeks inside POPGUNPULP! Many more to come!
PS. Keep spreading the word, 63% of the way there!
M!TCH
