About this project
I have the physical work room but in order to support it, I need to work several jobs which leaves little time or energy to make art and promote my career. The money would be used to supplement that income so I could drop one or two of those part-time jobs and make art, visit galleries outside of my geographic area to promote my work, pursue finding a publisher for my Word Project book proposal, and work on the art for another book proposal of an eerie, dark alphabet. My work has been described as "paper dolls with deep personal issues" and they evoke powerful responses from people who see them. Sometimes it is a deep smile; for other works, it is a thoughtful, deep silence. The most common response is "I don't understand why your work(A.) isn't in galleries outside of this area, or (B.)hasn't been published." Well, I don't either other than I have been so busy just keeping going that I haven't been able to attempt that leap of faith. Please, come take my hand and leap with me.

Artist's Statement:
My current work is about animation- or the possibility of it, color, texture, and how creativity can flourish within constraints. Animation in the sense of bringing alive inanimate
materials or objects, how figures articulate. Playing with color and texture for the total joy of giving
those rods and cones a real workout. I enjoy the challenge of working within a certain level
of constraint, limitations in the form of a restricted palette of materials, size limitations, thematic unity; it forces me to be more creative and makes the process a game-and an enjoyable
one at that. I see my work as little theaters, each with its own proscenium, each bristling with
potential.
