“Long Live The Dead” presents five different zombie tales. They will all be released on one DVD as a feature film anthology. 

The trailer above reveal snippets from FOUR of the FIVE shorts. There is one remaining short to be completed and that will be shot in early June.

The project will be completed whether we raise sufficient funds or not, hence a very low milestone. Any amount we are lucky enough to raise will go toward adding the necessary VFX to enhance certain shots and the recoupment of the production costs. The more funds we can raise, the more we can allocate toward the special f/x and sound design.

All of the shorts were directed by yours truly, Richard Poché. I was a fan of zombie flicks before zombies were cool and grew up on Romero, Fulci and Argento. I have a love for the horror genre and recently directed a “Halloween” fan film which you can see here:

The shorts in “Long Live The Dead” were shot in HD with a Panasonic HVX200 equipped with a Letus Extreme.

Summaries of the short films are as follows:

"A PICTURE TO DIE FOR"

A photography student and her friend walk through a graveyard to shoot "creepy" pictures. They soon find that one of the residents is more than happy to accommodate. A Picture To Die For stars:

MEGAN PORTER - Megan has been featured in HBO's Entourage as well as commercials for Microsoft, Vivident, InStyler, and Pizza Hut.

CHRISTINE HAEBERMAN - Christine was one of the contestants on VH1's "Scream Queens: Season 2" as well as landing starring roles in
numerous indie productions such as "Luv Struck,"  "Return of the
Zoppets," and  "The Millenium Bug."

"ZOE DIES IN THE END"

Two friends settle in for an evening of red wine and zombie flicks when an unexpected guest arrives. Zoe Dies in the End stars:

HALIE ISLAVA - Halie has been featured in local Bay Area theatre productions such as The Journey and Big Love. This movie marks her film debut.

KENDALL MCCANN - Kendall can be seen in the independent film "Out of the Shadows" and was featured in the "Trauma" television series.  In addition to being an actress and model, Kendall is an elite level gymnast.

"HERE LIES BUD"

A prostitute deals with the battered and bloodied pimp at her door. She soon realizes, however, that her pimp has been bitten by something...diseased. Here Lies Bud stars:

MARY NEWMAN - This is Mary's second project with Poché Pictures as she worked with us on the soon to be released noir thriller "Rain Falls." A gifted actor that has the rare ability to project both strength and vulnerability, Mary has appeared in "Beyond the Mat" and "Water for Elephants."

KATRINA SHERWOOD - Sexy and intelligent, Katrina has worked with Poché Pictures on "Evil Baby" and  "The Ghost of Randall Bowers." She has starred in numerous short films in the Bay Area in addition to carving out a career as a model.

"BLACK BONE WOODS"

A reporter and her intern trek deep inside Black Bone Woods for a story on the urban legend of Alexander Sheppard. Black Bone Woods stars:

STEPHANIE DANIELSON - Stephanie Danielson has most recently Guest Starred on FEMME FATALES and THE SINNERS. You may also recognize her from: Discovery Channel's EXTREME FORENSICS, Biography Channel's CELEBRITY GHOST STORIES, and National Commercial/Print Campaigns for- Been Verified, MICA Beauty Cosmetics, ACURA, Eibach, and ROXY, to name
a few.  

LORA MCHUGH - Lora makes her film debut with Poche Pictures in the segment of "Black Bone Woods." She has done numerous community theater projects as well as being a talented musician.

CHRISTINA JOHNSON - Immensely talented and hard-working, "Black Bone Woods" marks the fifth project Christina has done with Poche Pictures. She also appears in the "Halloween" Fan Film above.

"DWEEZLE"

A bored college student unwittingly conjures up the dead by performing an ancient dance rite. Dweezle stars:

ERICA RHODES - Erica's work can be found in the upcoming "Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt" and the cult hit "Plague Town."  Erica was also a featured performer in Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion.

MINDY BYRAM - Mindy was the titular character in "Lucella Green" as well as starring in the feature "Warrior's End". She also appeared in a myriad of short films including "Brit Lind's Obsession" and "Squad 77".

I have four of the five shorts completely shot and in the can. The final short, “Zoe Dies In The End” will be shot in June.

Most of the shorts here thrive on creepy atmosphere and deft characterization rather than the clichéd victim trying to escape from a zombie horde. I aspired to make the micro-budget work in my favor as I emphasized the strengths of what I did have; unique and original stories which are brought to life by great actors.
