For this update, we wanted to show you a little more coding. Specifically, we dig down a little into the internals of Pixate’s core graphics engine. We’ll extend ShapeKit to include a new custom burst shape. By the end of the post, you’ll see how you can add new shapes to ShapeKit and how you can extend the engine to load those shapes from a file at runtime.
Here's a screenshot of the app we build... read the blog post now.
In this video, we're showing some progress we're making on reading styling information in real-time from Photoshop and applying a gradient directly to native iOS controls. In this case, we're styling a UINavigationBar and a couple of UILabels. This video is best viewed in full-screen given Photoshop and the Pixate Visualizer are shown side-by-side.
As always, we appreciate your support and please spread the word about this project!
We've put together a video mockup of what we're going to enable with Pixate -- application wide, dynamic restyling of your application using CSS. Why is this interesting? Because it enables you to style your entire app dynamically, allowing you to A/B test different designs, even in real-time, so the most effective and user-friendly design can be determined. It also means that changing and updating your designs will be as simple as updating your CSS files.
Keep tweeting and help make this campaign successful! Thanks.
Hello Kickstarters! First off, thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our backers for all of your amazing support. You folks are awesome and you're helping us to realize our dream of changing the very nature of how mobile design is done.
We're working hard on all things Pixate and thought you might like to see some of our latest progress. Today's video update is a little more on the technical side. We show off the work we've been doing to improve our CSS support for linear gradients. Specifically, the video gives a brief glimpse into how we've implemented support for angled linear gradients. Not only have we added support for the CSS3 linear-gradient syntax for angled gradients, but we've also added the ability to set color stops along those gradients. We still have lots more to do and we'll keep you updated as things progress. Thanks again!
