By now you should have received our request to know T-Shirt sizes and the correct addresses to send the rewards. We look forward to get to work soon on the T-Shirt production. We will keep you all posted.

Dear all,

We have delivered all the social greetings pledges including the cut-ups made to order (via email and social websites). The remastering of Burroughs: The Movie has started in New York City. Tom DiCillo, original DoP of the film, has joined us to assist in the remaster and grading working alongside the colorist of Prime Focus NYC, the post-production house where we are doing the work. We will share photographs of the sessions soon. 

As many of you know, the remastering of Burroughs: The Movie is just the first step on a project that includes a dream to turn Howard´s vast archive into an online crowd-tagged archive and multiplatform "museum" that can exhibit his work for generations to come. We look forward to keeping you posted about the next steps.

Dear all,

Thank you once again for your amazing support. We will now get ourselves to work soon and we'll keep you informed. We will use the extra funding we got to digitise some of Howard's family videos and create a small trailer to raise funding for Smash the Control Machine, the film about Howard.

Dear backers! 

We have reached our goal with 53 hours to go.Thank you to everyone who has supported this project. This could have never happened without all of you. Thank you for the continued support and for being such amazing ambassadors of the campaign.

As you all know, this project goes beyond Burroughs: The Movie and its restoration as it has a final goal to restore all of Howard Brookner's archive and creating a film about his life. Everything over the $20,000 that is gathered from now until the end of the campaign will go towards the bigger goal. With another $3,500 we can digitize more than 60 hours of VHS and Video8 including rehearsals of Bloodhounds of Broadway and Howard's last years on video diaries and family videos. Another $2,400 will allow us to digitize more than a dozen reels of sound of the Burroughs years. Howard's archive has more than 300 items of video and sound (hundreds of hours of sound and image) that need to be preserved and digitized and we will not stop until all of his legacy is preserved and available for the public to see. 

In the final year of his life Howard wrote on a letter to his parents: "If I live on it is in your memories and in the films I made". Thank you all for helping make it real.

Thank you everyone for helping us reach this week's goal of 70%. With 9 days left we are in the home stretch. We need just over 5.600 USD to make this actually happen.

It's been a busy week in which we added some new rewards suggested by some of our backers: a pledge just for the exclusive T-Shirt made for this campaign, posters, a double set and an Educational and Library license to screen the film. Thank you to all for the continued support on Twitter, Facebook, blogs, in publications and newspapers including the cover article of the Arts&Culture supplement of one of Brazil's most important newspapers O Globo , a mention by the prestigious The Paris Review and Anthony Kauffman's blog on Indiewire . We feel deeply grateful and excited that so many are with us on the journey to bring back Howard's Burroughs film. Also, we would like to give out a special thanks to some really inspirational people who joined us this past week. They know who they are and their backing of this campaign to restore Howard's first film has been really important.

We are truly committed to make it happen and we know next week is crucial. Helping out in all, of course, is our family and friends as well as all of you. Steve Brookner, Howard's younger brother, is doing a fundraising spinning class on Christmas day from 9.30 to 11.00am at Pinecrest Fitness in Coral Gables. There will be a couple dozen bikes at $25 and $35 (Thank you uncle Steve!). So if anyone who lives in Miami wants a good sweat for a good cause, please don't hesitate. Steve is a committed and inspirational Ironman winner and trainer. By the way, Steve got into endurance sports as did Howard´s older brother, Andrew (my dad), because of Howard. And lastly, we must mention the passing of Spencer Cox, who died earlier this week at 44 from AIDS related causes. We are saddened by his loss, inspired by his life and reminded that AIDS is far from a thing of the past. His legacy stays with us: a giant activist in the fight against AIDS as well as one of the key people who helped accelerate treatment research in the US saving countless lives.

We want to wish everyone a healthy and happy Holiday season. Thanks for continuing to spread the word on this project. We need one last effort. Only together we will make it a reality.
