App, Website & Color Options Sneak Peak
Hey guys
While most of you have had hopefully some time to spend with their family and friends during the holidays, we have been busy bringing the project further forward.
CES 2013
As a matter of fact we will be at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas, it's been something we had decided a few months ago at a time when we were hoping to be able to show an already production-ready PhoneJoy PLAY. Well, as you may or may not know from other Kickstarter projects things do not always go as planned and our Kickstarter ended up delayed by as much as two months.
Now with still being a few weeks away from being ready for mass production, we are trying to show off a few of our samples at a small booth at the show. And even that proves to be quite a challenge since we are still waiting for the new PCBs featuring the final version of our Bluetooth 3.0 module. Well, it's looking like it will be quite a last-minute rush for us. But that is part of being a start-up in a way. In any case, if you'll be at the CES and want to say hello and have a first hands-on with the PLAY come and see us! More details can be found here.
Color Options
Since we are making a few prototypes we thought it would be great to play a little around with possible color options for the user-voted color. Have a look for yourselves:

We are still not entirely happy, since these are just the result of a manual paint job, but hopefully they will give you a better idea of what is possible. Some of you have also voiced that they'd like the buttons to be in a different color and that certainly would be an option, so before we put it to a vote we'd welcome your feedback on this.
App & Website Redesign
This may not be the most important part for many of you. But we want to not only create great hardware but also allow for an easy-to-use user experience. Hence, we are slimming down our website and also redesign our app.
We hope you like what we did and hopefully we can still reach the $75k stretch goal so that we can also work on a Tablet UI as well.

The orange one is great, but I always like to buy the green version of everything, although I'd prefer a more discrete tone (either darker or lighter).

hmmm, colour opinions:
red + silver = very stylish
BUT! : i think the darker (black and not grey) buttons looks not so cheap, better for every colour.
what do u think guys, do u agree? instead of grey, only black buttons? :)

The colors are neat, but they're very plastic-y looking. I had issues with the colored Dualshock controllers like red and pink as they made the controller look cheap and easy to break. Silver always has a nice finish because it made the material look sturdy as well as the appeal of the color itself. However, the red works with the controlller's layout quite nicely!

The colours are looking great. I'm really liking the red and silver. Still would like white/clear/grey buttons on the white controller. I might have to grab two now.

Wow, the colours look awesome! I originally planned on going for the white model, but that silver/grey one looks awesome. Cant wait to vote on it :)
